With four colleges nearby -- North Dakota State University, Concordia College, Minnesota State Community and Technical College, and Minnesota State University Moorhead -- Downtown Moorhead is a thriving, busy urban hub. Downtown hugs the Red River, directly across from Fargo, North Dakota. The Moorhead Viking Ship Park Bike Trail follows the river and is accessible from downtown on 3rd Street. Living in Downtown Moorhead, you get two city centers in one -- Downtown Fargo is just a short walk or drive across the river.
Woodlawn Park, just south of Main Avenue, provides ball fields, a basketball court, picnic areas, and a playground. Other great destinations include the Rourke Art Museum, Viking Ship Park, the Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center, and Riverfront Park. Minnesota State University Moorhead is home to the Roland Dille Center for the Arts, and Center Avenue provides plenty of shopping, including the Moorhead Center Mall.
