Irvington is located about five miles west of Downtown Baltimore. The neighborhood is also near University of Maryland, Baltimore County and Leakin Park, home of the annual Herb Festival. Although Irvington is known for its charming Victorian houses with wraparound porches and traditional rowhouses, the city also features apartments and townhomes available for rent at various price points. Irvington is predominately residential but houses several schools, and the majority of businesses are located along Frederick Avenue. The street features several thrift stores and locally owned shops and restaurants.
