About This Property
This large wood Italianate from the "Victorian" Architectural Era stands proud on the corner of North 9th Street and North Street after the bold restoration conducted on it in 1997. Beautiful leaded glass doors adorn the entries on both North and 9th Street. This building was originally built at the end of the 1800's by the Wilkes (husband and wife team) who ran a millinery, shoe and hat store out of the first floor shops and had their living space and boarding rooms in the second floor. The original address on North street had a small log home that was destroyed by fire prior to the Wilkes building this structure. The exterior of the building has been restored beginning in 1997. Each apartment floor plan is unique which is why we require on site viewing and we do not rent apartments site unseen. The building's hot water boiler provides comfortable heat in the winter months. The paved lot provides private off street parking for the tenants. This building is convenient to downtown and the Arts and Market District which offers shopping, art galleries, coffeeshops and many various dining opportunities. With all utilities paid by the owners, the apartments within this building are very affordable and desirable.
