Get the best of both worlds -- the energy and excitement of downtown, but with that wooded mountain feel you love about Asheville -- in North Downtown. This large neighborhood begins along I-240 on the northeastern edge of downtown and extends north along Merrimon Avenue to roughly Weaver Park. Grove Park Country Club sits at the top end of the neighborhood.
Nearer to the highway, the urban feel is more prevalent with streets lined with shops, restaurants, and businesses as downtown spills over into the neighborhood.
