Neighborhood - Norwood
With historic Woodlawn Cemetery and Van Cortlandt Park to the north, tree-lined Moshulu Parkway to the west, the iconic Bronx River to the east, and Bronx Park to the south, the neighborhood of Norwood boasts more green space than much of the Bronx. Its insular geography gives the area a small-town feel while remaining connected to greater New York City via major highways and subway lines.
Norwood is convenient to Manhattan College, Fordham University, and Lehman College. At the center of the neighborhood, there's even more green in the form of the Williamsbridge Oval, a huge park built over a former reservoir and featuring sports fields, a playground, and a recreation center.
