About This Property
We're heading out of the country for two months, from December 21st to February 20th, and opening up our home for the right folks to enjoy in our absence (ONLY AVAILABLE FROM 12/21/23 to 2/20/23). Rental includes bi-weekly gardener and weekly hot tub maintenance and all utilities (charging of electric vehicles will require additional cost), including fiber internet connection with mesh system. Only Available for a 30-day minimum (we prefer to rent it the whole time and will offer it for a rate of $8000 total for those two months) rental and prospective guest must complete a credit and background check, acquire renter's insurance (very inexpensive) and put down a $5,000 deposit. Our inviting, recently remodeled and generously spacious, 2000+ square foot, home is centrally located close to all of the places you'd want to go in Santa Cruz (harbor, beaches, Capitola, and the Boardwalk). Our house is filled with natural light and the layout of the property and beautiful back yard offer privacy and relaxation-perfect for professionals that want to spread out or for an extended family winter experience to Santa Cruz. Our neighborhood is a very unique mixture of residential and commercial, with a tire shop and a school next door, and a cool Santa Cruz founder's cemetery nearby (it's a pretty quiet neighborhood). We don't have neighbors on either side (a small, local, tire shop on one side and a school on the other). We are within walking distance of the harbor and Twin Lakes beach (~20 minute walk). We are very central and a close, and relatively flat, bicycle ride to most of Santa Cruz and Capitola. It features two spacious and comfortable “primary” bedrooms and a third "child" room, sleeping six adults comfortably. The front bedroom suite has its own private entrance, a pillow top king-size bed, blackout curtains, a large workspace with a 43” smart TV (with Netflix, Amazon and HBO max). The modern bathroom is just outside the door and features a full size bathtub and shower with studio features of a hot water kettle and microwave. The front bedroom suite can be locked off completely from the main house should someone desire the privacy. The second bedroom is the rear primary and has a luxury memory foam topped king bed. This room has tons of light (but with blackout shades and curtains!) and French doors that open up to a garden deck and an inviting six person hot tub and hot outdoor shower. This bedroom has a bathroom attached with a custom built walk in shower (with rain and hand held shower heads), a custom privacy wall by the toilet, and double vanity for extra space. The third bedroom separates the other two and has a very comfy queen bed, it's own large slider (with a blackout curtain too) that opens up to a beautiful side yard with fruit trees, a deck (with darts!) and easy access to the hot tub. The house has a “formal” living room (with a piano and fireplace) with attached dining room (with a table that accommodates up to 6 people comfortably) . We also have a large, comfy, family room with comfy seating and a recessed 70-inch 4K Smart TV with streaming apps, Screencast/Airplay, and Sonos surround wifi speakers. The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the necessary spices, utensils, cooking equipment, and odds and ends that any aspiring chef might need to make many wonderful meals. The fully fenced backyard is a perfect retreat, with a luxurious synthetic lawn, decks, a hot tub, a trampoline, large Weber gas grill, loads of potted plants, flowers and year round herbs in the garden. There’s also plenty of outdoor seating with lights for extended evenings. Watering is automatic, so all you have to do is relax and enjoy the sunshine and beauty! We allow one small dog (under 50 lbs) as long as guest takes full responsibility for any and all damages. Additionally the owner is required to clean up all waste on property and will have the house professionally cleaned every three weeks by our cleaning crew ($200 per deep cleaning). A deep cleaning will be required of all guests prior to checkout for the same $200 fee. A few notes for potential tenants: We have a "granny" unit in the front yard with another long-term tenant that shares only the front yard with you and has claim on one of the three available spots in the driveway. They do their own thing and you generally won't have to interact with each other unless you choose to do so. Guests will have access to two dedicated parking spots in the driveway and there is plenty of additional parking on the street. Also, although we've never had crime issues, we have cameras on non-private areas in the front of the property for overall protection and deterrence. Finally, closets in the "child" and back "primary" bedroom are locked off but dressers and hangers are available and there is plenty of space in the front "primary" closet.

Eastside Santa Cruz offers all of the California charm you could want in a waterfront locale, Situated just east of the San Lorenzo River and bounded by State Route 1 and the Pacific ocean. Parks, restaurants, coffee spots, and bars galore call Eastside home. The area isn’t exactly pedestrian friendly considering the lack of sidewalks, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility to walk to attractions on Capitola Road. Eastside Santa Cruz provides a quieter suburban setting for those looking to rent in this Pacific Coast city.
Streets are lined with single-story homes and apartments in a variety of architectural styles. Eastside enjoys some of the influence of the University of California Santa Cruz campus, like its nightlife and dining geared towards students. The world-famous Santa Cruz boardwalk is within walking distance of the neighborhood, as is a selection of beaches and cool hangout spots, making this area a prime spot for residents and visitors alike.
