Jubilee Park and Lower Onondaga Park are popular with the locals, as is Elmwood Park, a hidden gem of a park that few outside of the area are even aware exists. Southside is situated about two miles south of Downtown Syracuse. The area borders Syracuse University, which is located just east of the neighborhood.
