We have a basement apartment in our home in Silver Spring available to rent. The house is in a quiet neighborhood. The apartment’s entrance is in the rear of the house off our patio, where you’d be greeted by a cheerful green door. It’s a well-insulated apartment with new windows and its own high-efficiency heating/cooling system. It has one bedroom, a small closet, a full bathroom, and a kitchen/living room. There is a 4-foot-wide opening between the living room and bedroom with no door, so it’s sort of a studio apartment. The kitchen area has a refrigerator, range, and microwave. The entrance to the apartment is in a shared basement hallway. There’s a shared clothes washer and dryer, too. The apartment is unfurnished and available after July 6 to a single tenant (no couples or families). We’re offering a one-year lease with an option to sign for two years. No pets or smoking are allowed. Rent is $1,400/month with all utilities included (internet, electricity, and water). A security deposit, equal to one month’s rent, is due at signing. We have two boys, ages 9 and 6. They can be loud sometimes but typically just between 8 AM and 9 PM. The apartment has pretty good sound separation from the rest of the house but you’ll likely hear them/us when running around and playing during the day. It’s important that we find a renter who’s friendly and makes our family feel comfortable. Location: It’s a charming house in the Woodmoor neighborhood of Silver Spring, MD, near the intersection of Colesville Rd and University Blvd, near the Capital Beltway (495). It's within walking distance of Starbucks, Chipotle, CVS, Trader Joe's, and more. There’s on-street parking and several bus stops nearby, including one that will get you to the Silver Spring Metro Station in under 10 minutes. Sligo Creek Trail and Northwest Branch Trail are also nearby for scenic walking/running/biking. If you're interested in the apartment, then tell us a bit about yourself.
