The Story Block was built by James Story in 1876. James Story was a successful merchant of dried good, groceries, boots and hats in Cuba, NY. Charles Ingalls, father of Laura Ingalls Wilder, the author of the popular ” The Little House in the Prairie” books, was born on a farm in the North Cuba area.
