Historic adobe homes -- mixed with sleek, modern apartment and office buildings -- fill Downtown Tucson. Colorful murals adorn the sides of some of the buildings, adding an artistic flair to this sunny neighborhood. Downtown Tucson is home to the Tucson Museum of Art, the Fox Theatre, the University of Arizona Museum of Art, The Children's Museum Tucson, MOCA Tucson, and several art galleries.
With the University of Arizona located just outside of Downtown Tucson, the neighborhood attracts college students. It is a walkable and bicycle-friendly neighborhood, and the Sun Link streetcar provides a fun, fast way to get from the university into downtown and beyond.
The heart of Downtown Tucson is Congress Street, a historic area with a variety of exciting destinations. John Dillinger hid out in Hotel Congress, built in 1919, and some residents claim the hotel is haunted.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at 255 North
Despite claims that the property is patrolled nightly, my car was still broken into. The security company they contract to was of no help, even after I filed a police report. The property does NOT have any cameras on site, except at the front leasing office. Even after being notified of their security flaws, management has not put up extra cameras, nor made any meaningful changes to mitigate crimes from happening in their community
The office staff is absolutely the best. Very responsive to any issues that come up, super courteous and helpful, they know our whole family by name (even the dog!) and make this community a home. The apartments are lovely, all the convenience of living downtown, but when on the property it's secluded and quiet. I can't say enough good things about this complex and the office staff.
Property Manager at 255 North, Responded To This Review
Thank you so much for your feedback! We're so happy to hear that you're enjoying your stay at 255 North.
I have lived here almost a year. Too many changes by new management without any consideration for the residents. Ceiling fans are listed as an amenity--there is not one ceiling fan in my apartment. I have an old stacked washer/drying and I pay $50/mth for it. Doing away with the laundry facility. On staff landscapers clean out the blue fountain and leave the debris all over the grounds. Nothing done about complaints. Just reroofed all the buildings with an AMAZING amount of noise. Many residents including me got roofing nails in their tires. The place was originally overplanted and now the overgrowth is being chain sawed with an AMAZING amount of noise. They want to raise my rent if I re-sign. No consideration being given to any of these things for having weathered all the changes. Would you re-sign??? Location is good.
This is a great location if you want to be downtown. It is one of the only apartments in downtown Tucson that is also a gated community, which was a huge plus for me. Another nice thing about this place is having a washer and dryer in the apartment. Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking in the downtown area.
An oasis in the middle of the Arizona desert, La Entrada Apartments is a surprisingly lush and unique place to call home. A short walk or streetcar ride takes you to the heart of recently-revitalized downtown Tucson for a night out, with 4th Avenue entertainment and the U of A only minutes away. Evenings staying in are always quiet, whether you're sitting out on your balcony or lounging by the pool. Prompt maintenance, weekly landscaping, water included…and you won't find another apartment in Tucson that compares with the spiral staircase loft!
