Historic Downtown Jackson is as energetic and thriving as it is charming and delightfully Southern. It is home to the West Tennessee Farmers Market, a variety of restaurants, terrific boutiques, the International Rockabilly Hall of Fame, the Amp, the Ned, and the Downtown Tavern. The Ned, or the Ned. R. McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center, provides residents with musical and stage performances and two art galleries. But while Downtown Jackson celebrates its past, it is also continually developing, adding new buildings, more businesses, and adding more parks along with walking and bicycling trails. Downtown Jackson is close to several colleges and universities, including the University of Tennessee, the University of Memphis Lambuth Campus, and Lane College.
