About the Listing Agent
Michelle Hutto
KEYSTONE REALTY
Michelle Hutto is a dynamic leader and pillar of the Frostproof, FL community. With over 35 years of experience in construction and real estate, she serves as the Broker/Owner of Keystone Realty Inc, where her expertise and dedication shine through in every transaction. In addition to her thriving real estate career, Michelle is deeply involved in community leadership. She proudly holds the position of President of both the Frostproof Chamber of Commerce and the SAC Committee, demonstrating her commitment to the growth and prosperity of the area. I wanted to name my office to have significance to our area and also to tie in with a subliminal message for real estate and construction. Since our city namesake was already taken and my husband already had an established business with our last name, Hutto Construction, I had to keep looking for something that could be catchy and long lasting. I recalled a little history from our town of how we got our name Frostproof. The story was told many times on the local bank's phone recorded message while waiting on hold to reflect on how the area survived a great freeze that damaged several acres of citrus crops all over central Florida. During this time, it so happened, our town was told we needed a different name from Keystone City since Florida already had Keystone Heights. So with much debate, they actually voted between Lakemont and Frostproof. Legend goes, Lakemont was actually selected but the guy that had the duty to hand deliver the outcome to the postmaster in Fort Meade supposedly stopped along the way and changed the name back to Frostproof, a name that has stuck with us through time and for the most part held true to our area weather phenomenon. Originally, our town was named Keystone City because the central town is "keystoned" wedged, between two large lakes up on a ridge. My office sits nearly right in the middle of the two lakes on the corner of Third and Scenic. I restored an old gas station building that was originally built for The Texas Company that quickly renamed themselves, Texaco. Our building is one of the first of a dozen prototype gas stations they built about a 100 years ago according to the Historian I conversed with at the Texaco headquarters. We took the creative liberty of adding false keystones above my interior door headers and on my sign our front to give a nod to my husband's crafty construction. We have enjoyed restoring and becoming a new fixture among our local businesses. I strive to be the best as I can be in real estate. I have created within my local Realtor association an annual scholarship campaign that awards a scholarship to a local Frostproof or Lake Wales high school student that plans to attend Polk State College. I have been named Realtor of the Year, Top Producer and Woman of Distinction in Polk County plus recognized as volunteer of the year as well as logged many hours and years as a volunteer with the local school advisory committee, sporting groups, Rotary and Frostproof Area Chamber of Commerce. I am mostly proud of my family. My husband and I have been married for over 35 years. We met on a cruise. We both lived in Frostproof but until the cruise I never saw or spoke to him beforehand. We dated and married a year later. We have five children with varying ages. The youngest are still in elementary school while the oldest has just recently celebrated his 10 year college reunion. My motto is, "We're the Key to your Real Estate Success!" In turn, I believe my faith, family and friends have all been keys to my success.
