The landscape of the Outer Park District and Eastside is diverse, ranging from the urbanized grid system near downtown to the more spread-out suburban and rural setting as you get closer to Farmington and Linden in the east. Each area has its own unique advantages: the western portion, closer to the city center, tends to be more industrial but also offers residents convenient access to shopping and public parks, as well as unique attractions like the Stockton Dirt Track and the Stockton Flea Market.
The eastern section requires a little more time in the car to run errands or get to work, but the tranquility and ample elbow room are well worth it. Of course, Eastside does have its own local-favorite attractions: Rinaldi’s Market in Linden is a strong competitor for the best deli in the area.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
