Neighborhood - Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant, tucked into a corner of Washington, DC, is a charming neighborhood of about 10,000 residents. With convenient access to green space and very little congestion or noise, the area is definitely "pleasant," though its modest elevation of about 180 feet somewhat belies the "mount."

The southern end of the vast Rock Creek Park (home to the Smithsonian National Zoo) borders the neighborhood along its west side, as does the Rock Creek, which flows through the park. The eastern border is 16th Street. Mount Pleasant is a bedroom community, with many commuting downtown to for work.
