Conveniently located in whimsical Ardentown, Delaware, the cottage is just 2 minutes from I-95 South & 10 minutes from downtown Wilmington, offering easy access to local attractions. Sincerely, Susan The Cottages on Orchard HOUSE RULES: The cottage is in the woods near open fields and waterways. You may see or encounter wildlife during your stay. This includes deer, foxes, raccoons, spiders, mice, bees, wasps, spider crickets, and ants. These creatures reside in nature. We do not control Mother Nature and therefore do not refund you if you encounter her business during your stay. Renting weekends, weekly, or monthly to travelers and business folks who are looking for more personalized space. The cottage is cleaned with a 1:10 bleach solution by me personally. I am also a registered nurse so cleanliness is a top priority. Cats are NOT permitted. All dog breeds and sizes are welcome here. Safety Notice: Our property is located near waterways and a wooded forest, which presents certain safety hazards. Due to these conditions, extra caution is advised for guests with young children. Please carefully consider these safety factors when making your reservation. We encourage you to evaluate whether this property meets your family's specific needs and safety requirements. If you're looking for that cozy, small-town feel interspersed with the excitement of a big city, then Wilmington is the place for you. Located in the northern-most portion of Delaware near the Pennsylvania border and close to the city of Philadelphia, PA, Wilmington has plenty to offer no matter what your age or interests. The specific neighborhood of the city that's best for you can vary based on your budget, but some of the more popular neighborhoods include Trolley Square (which is known for its beautiful architecture) and Bradywine Park (which is dotted with lovely parks and nature trails).
If you're the artsy type, you'll love visiting the Delaware Art Museum, located on Kentemere Parkway. Here, you can enjoy viewing work from local and globally known artists ranging anywhere from the mid 1800s to present day. Be sure to visit plenty throughout the year, though, as they're always featuring new exhibits and galleries.
