First settled in 1685, Whippany is an attractive suburban community with a long history. With its large homes atop spacious lots, Whippany provides the family-friendly atmosphere of a small town, but this town is just 25 miles west of Manhattan and 14 miles northwest of Newark. Whippany has some of the state’s top schools, including Whippany Park High School, often ranked as one of the best public high schools.
