No matter where you decide to hang your captain’s hat in Bath, you’re just a stone’s throw from the water. Situated along the Kennebec River, which flows out into the Casco Bay, Bath has withstood a thriving shipbuilding industry since 1743. Visitors flock to the city’s famous shipyard, Bath Iron Works, to witness the vessel-making process.
Bath’s historic seafaring town has experienced quite the cultural renaissance over the years. People have been drawn to its walkable streets, waterfront views, and cultural attractions. The Maine Maritime Museum has tons of artifacts, and the museum has been internationally ranked as one of the top 10 maritime museums in the world. In addition to a self-guided tour of Bath’s architecture, residents revel in a concert from time to time at the Chocolate Church Art Center (no, you can’t eat it).
Because it’s relatively small, most Bath apartments are conveniently located in walking distance of downtown restaurants and shopping destinations.
