About This Property
(805) 275-1851 - Cricket Adobe - Classic Spanish Style With Modern Luxury in Montecito Hedgerow District - For Detailed Booking Information & Availability, Please Visit: https://www.paradiseretreats.com/cricketadobe/ THIS IS A FURNISHED VACATION RENTAL A sprawling hand-built adobe hacienda behind a perimeter wall just off San Ysidro Road within an easy walk to Miramar Beach. Through the inscribed wooden gate, beyond a lush green yard, lies the U-shaped home with 4 bedrooms and 4 and-a-half baths surrounding a hand-laid cobblestone courtyard. You can feel the poetry and romance of the Spanish fantasy home designed and constructed over a decade by its one and only owner. It was done originally in the 1950s and was re-done, with an emphasis on the kitchen and the bathrooms, at the beginning of 2017. Montecito Magazine thought so much of it as an exemplary home that they did a six-page illustrated story on the home and its visionary in one of 2016’s issues. The exterior of the home is painted stucco over adobe bricks, under a red roof made of hand-formed tiles on a front lawn of grass, with one side yard of citrus trees and the other of olive trees set into decomposed granite. You pass through the wrought-iron-and-glass front door into a vaulted entry, and turn into a capacious tiled living area with a huge picture window onto the central courtyard and big, shuttered windows to the front. You can relax in the deep, comfortable couch cushions while enjoying the view or the big, flat screen smart TV, with a wooden ceiling fan and a central fireplace conditioning the space. The big, open kitchen beyond includes all stainless steel appliances, a floating island for meal prep, and a long farm table under another wooden ceiling fan, next to a window bay on the front yard, for family get-together. Down the north wing of the house lie three bedrooms, each with its own ceiling fan, tiled like the rest of the house with elaborate hand-made squares, made on-premises by the builder in the 1950’s. The first bedroom features a queen-sized bed with a lovely settee as well as a view to the front. Next is a bathroom with shower and double-vanity. The second includes two adorable single beds and a view to the courtyard as well as the side garden. The third is the master, with its own en suite bathroom, re-made by current Owner, including a large glass-enclosed shower. At the back of the north wing lies a separate apartment with its own entrance, patio, and mini-kitchen. In the back of the south wing lies another big, separate room which serves as both a guest room, in the form of two new modern convertible sofas, and a family room, where the kids can play and everyone can watch the big, flat-screen television. The courtyard, around which the whole home wraps, has several discrete lounge spaces for reading and entertainment, from a long outdoor dining table on one side of the “U” to a set of big, black, wicker butterfly chairs arranged together on the other side. The feel of the home is one of classic Mediterranean luxury, hand-made with love and vision, where you will relax and enjoy the sense of beauty and serenity, with the Pacific Ocean a short walk out the front and the mountains framing the view to the back. No Pets Allowed (RLNE3883974) Other Amenities - Other- near beach, lower village, classic adobe, 3 fireplaces, family suite w/full kitchen. Pet policies - No Dogs Allowed, No Cats Allowed.
