To many New Yorkers, the Upper East Side connotes old money and high society. Alongside Central Park, between 5th and Lexington avenues, up to East 96th Street, the trappings of wealth are everywhere apparent: posh buildings, Madison Avenue's flagship boutiques, and doormen. It’s also a key destination for visitors, because some of the most fantastic museums in the country are here. There's a reason this stretch of Manhattan is called "Museum Mile": this is where you'll find the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, as well as a number of art galleries. For a local taste of the luxe life, catwalk down Madison Avenue for its lavish boutiques; strolling the platinum-card corridor between 60th and 82nd street is like stepping into the pages of a glossy magazine. Many fashion houses have their flagships here and showcase their lush threads in exquisite settings. If art galleries appeal, there are some elegant ones on the Upper East Side. In keeping with the tony surroundings, the emphasis here is on works by established masters. Public transportation includes the 6 Train on E 77th St & Lexington Ave, the M15 Bus to downtown at E 74th & 2nd Ave, and the Q train line at the 72 street subway station (2 min away) and the 6 train line at the 77 street subway station (8 min away). There is also a City Bike station 200 meters away. Plenty of restaurants are right on the corner. Smoking is not allowed. Pets are not allowed. Luggage storage is not available. Kindly note that a $350 refundable security deposit is required and will be collected directly by the partner after your booking is confirmed. The security deposit will be handled through direct communication with the partner and is not processed automatically. [SI]

There's a reason New York City has been the backdrop of countless films, novels, and lifelong ambitions; it simply does things at a scale and intensity that no other place in the country matches. Spread across five distinct boroughs — Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island — the city offers wildly different ways to experience daily life depending on where you plant your roots. Whether you're drawn to the electric pace of Midtown, the tree-lined streets of Park Slope, or the arts-forward energy of Astoria, each corner of the city carries its own character and cadence.
The rental landscape here is as varied as the city itself. Sleek high-rise apartment communities with floor-to-ceiling skyline views define much of Midtown and the Financial District, while pre-war lofts and historic brownstones dominate neighborhoods like SoHo, the West Village, and Park Slope.
