The master bedroom (King size bed) with its many windows overlooking the bay and garden will beckon you to breathe and relax. On the deck, there's an outdoor tub surrounded by wisteria, angel's trumpet and redwoods. We even have a resident squirrel who lays on the banister to nap! The other 3 sunny bedrooms each have a full size bed and share a full bathroom with a tub/shower and laundry facilities. On the upper level, a huge teen/kid area awaits, so that everyone has “enough sprawl space." There are 2 full size futon beds and a twin futon. When you enter our living room, you'll want to head to either couch after grabbing a book from our diverse library and put up your feet. You'll admire the views from the massive windows and the call of the birds from the surrounding trees. Our flat screen, large TV will stand by until you are ready to break out the popcorn. In the adjacent family room, you may play on the piano, congas and other instruments or ease into the beanbag chairs in front of the fireplace. One of the full bathrooms is located on this level as well. More views abound from our ample kitchen with its sturdy farm table that can accommodate 12 diners, (or you may dine on the deck!). All the amenities such as a fridge, oven/stove, dishwasher and all the pot/pans, spices, oils and other accouterments any kitchen worth its salt would have are here for you. You may take a 2 minute walk to the North Berkeley Farmer's market (at Rose and Shattuck - Thursday afternoons 3-7pm) or stroll to some of the other culinary California eateries: Mission Heirloom, our new Paleo restaurant or if you are craving Non-Paleo vittles, the Cheeseboard with its phenomenal pizza, Cesar's, a lively tapas bar, 4 star Chez Panisse of the renowned Alice Waters and a plethora of international fare await you in the famed Gourmet Ghetto a mere 3 blocks away. Our guest guide will detail for you the myriad food options in Berkeley, as well as recommended shops, restaurants, cafes, activities, transport options and gems that even tripadvisor does not know, but here are a few treasures: You may opt to walk and explore the Martin Luther King School Edible School Garden, a project that is built into the students' curriculum (also founded by Alice Waters). When school is not in session, the public pool, running track, and tennis courts are available for use. Three blocks further, you come to the renowned Monterey Market, a veritable souk, with mountains of fruits and vegetables, many that are organic and local. A cheese shop, butcher, and cafe flank the market as well. Live Oak Park, Codornices and Tilden Parks offer Bay views, romping grounds for all ages, hiking, biking and equestrian trails and even a long sled (just grab some cardboard!). A few blocks south is Downtown Berkeley, featuring Berkeley Rep, Freight and Salvage Music House, 4 cinemas and a Benetton listing of international restaurants. The Greek Theater and Zellerbach are also very close and feature amazing entertainment, dance and music. Our famed University is a short stroll east from Downtown. The home can easily accommodate 11. We ask that no parties, gatherings or unregistered guests use the home. We have installed external cameras for the safety of our guests, neighbors and home.
