Saltillo is a residential area in northeast Mississippi that’s centered around a venerable strip of shops on Mobile St. Many residents work in Tupelo just a few miles to the south and live in Saltillo, namely for its tranquil, rural vibe and plentiful space.
Most people who live in Saltillo will talk of their tight-knit community. The city has a very low crime rate, and is one of the best places to buy a house in Mississippi. There are still a few local spots on Mobile St. but most of the area is supplied by the chains and big-box stores to the west along MS-145. Lake Lamar Bruce is just outside of Saltillo to the northeast, and offers picturesque views from the state park on its shores. US-45 makes accessing Tupelo a breeze for both commuters and visitors alike.
