The well-marked walkway at SE 31st street provides a town kayak launch for the Davis Canal and a great view of the center of the island, not accessible by car. This is our favorite area to catch a great sunrise/sunset around the marshlands and to check out a lot of waterbirds. There is a secondary walking path at SE 20th, so there is potential for a longer loop for the runners in your group! We have lawn games for the teenagers and an elevator for the great-grandparents. Welcome to indoor-outdoor living at its best, with 2 screened porches, one up and one down, and a sunroom off the living room. Our yard features a cornhole play area, putting green, and an outdoor shower. Hardwood floors throughout the living area make it user-friendly for beach goers. The great room is the perfect place for togetherness when you get back from the beach. Our bright, white open kitchen has all the storage and cookware you will need to make meals at home. Enjoy the nearby public boat launch and our neighborhood park's Splash Pad, Pickle Ball/Tennis courts, fitness center, senior center, and outdoor concerts at the amphitheater. **Please contact Ann at Sea Coast Rentals for further information and/or to check available dates. Oak Island is a small beach town on the southern coast of North Carolina, about 40 minutes southwest of Wilmington. Spread across miles of shoreline, Oak Island features sandy beaches, fishing piers, boat ramps, and marinas, making it the ultimate location for watersports from fishing to boating. Along with relaxing on the beach, residents play mini-golf or ride their bikes to grab an ice cream on a summer day. When you move into your beach house or waterfront apartment, be sure to check out the Oak Island Nature Center to see some interesting displays on fossils and more. After a day of fun, try one of the local eateries serving up casual fare like hamburgers and fried seafood. Oak Island has been attracting tourists since the 19th century, but beaches here tend to be uncrowded, great for renters looking for a coastal oasis without constant excitement.
