Kukui Plaza is almost a small city in itself, contained in two towers in Downtown Honolulu. This large complex has a footprint that has allowed it to do something very special. The roof of the garage, which connects the two buildings, has been turned into an incredible private park. With a huge fish pond, covered picnic area, walking/jogging path, trees and extensive grassy areas, you'll forget you're still in your building. It's a retreat you'll love spending time in with friends and family or even by yourself as you wind down from a day at work.. Being Downtown your commute is done on foot and in mere minutes. H1 is just up the street as well, so any trips for business or pleasure can get off to a fast start when you live in Kukui Plaza. That says it all, really. When you live here, your life becomes so much simpler. In the early 70’s, the city of Honolulu recognized a need for revitalization in the urban core and adopted housing friendly zoning as a solution. Developed in 1976 by Oceanside Properties, Kukui Plaza was the one of the first residential developments in the business center of Honolulu. The development includes a modest shopping mall at the street level and a pair 33 story residential towers with 938 apartments. The location is very pedestrian friendly because it is across the street from the north end of the Fort Street pedestrian mall which runs all the way down to Ala Moana Boulevard. Common Areas for Residents The Diamond Head and Ewa towers are connected by a large four level parking structure topped with a Garden Deck. Each tower has separate entrances secured with security patrol, enterphone, video and key card. The parking entrance is also secured. There are no guest parking stalls, however there are plenty of paid public parking stalls for the shopping mall on the street level. The private Garden Deck features grassy areas, mature trees and rock formation with waterfall. It is quite expansive as it takes up an entire city block. The amenities include barbeque area, a swimming pool, fish pond, walking path and an open pergola structure that can be rented for large parties up to 50 people. A meeting room which can accommodate up to 67 people is available to residents. Storage lockers are available to owners to rent on a first come, first served basis. Sorry, we love pets, however we do not allow pets for this unit. No smoking is allowed in the unit and in the building. Please call or text us for a unit showing or other units we may have available. Seeming to rise from the ocean like the mountain peaks that surround it, Downtown Honolulu is a business hub in the middle of paradise. This stunning mix of modern buildings, historic landmarks, and verdant landscape provides the ultimate lifestyle – surf or enjoy the beaches on weekends and walk to work in this capital city during the week.
Some of the most important historic locations in Oahu are located in Downtown Honolulu, including Iolani Place, the Aloha Tower, and the King Kamehameha I statue. Iolani Place, built in 1882, has the distinction of being the only royal palace in the United States. Other important destinations include Hawai’i Pacific University, the Hawaii State Art Museum, and Kakaako Waterfront Park.
Downtown Honolulu is divided into several smaller districts. As you look at apartments in Honolulu, be sure to take note of them: the Capitol District, Chinatown, the Waterfront, and the Central Business District.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
