Los Gatos is an upscale suburb of San Jose, the home of Netflix’s headquarters and numerous other tech sector companies. Like many communities in the Silicon Valley area, Los Gatos is a picturesque, mainly- residential town with excellent schools. However, it distinguishes itself by the sheer volume of different things to do in town.
For a community its size, Los Gatos enjoys a quite robust nightlife scene, with bars and clubs of every description centered mainly around Santa Cruz Avenue (this is also where you’ll find numerous world-class restaurants and unique shopping). Those with more refined tastes will appreciate the local cultural attractions, including the art and history museums, Montalvo Arts Center, and Kotani-En Japanese Garden. And when you want to take advantage of the perpetual sunshine, large parks and nature preserves like Heintz Open Space, Vasona Lake, and Lexington Reservoir are perfect for a little outdoor R&R.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
