Highland Acres South, also simply called Highland Acres, is a small suburban area about three miles south of Downtown Dover. Nestled between Moores Lake, Issac Branch, and several parks, Highland Acres South blends small-town living with a pastoral feel. This predominately residential area features affordable to upscale rentals in a variety of styles including apartments and ranch-style houses. Residents take full advantage of Highland Acres’ natural beauty spending their free time outdoors at Tidbury Park, Hunn Nature Park, and Brockneck County Park. There are a few small stores and restaurants in the neighborhood, but residents flock to South Dupont Highway for a wider variety of options. Highland Acres also lies about four miles west of Dover Air Force Base, so it’s also a good choice for families and military employees looking for a home close to base.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
