Situated on Maui’s northwestern coast, Lahaina is one of the most historic towns in Hawaii. Formerly the capital of Hawaii, Lahaina was the center of the global whaling trade in the mid-1800s. Front Street is also the site of Lahaina’s world-famous Halloween celebration known as the Mardi Gras of the Pacific. Getting around from Lahaina is easy with access to the Honoapi’ilani Highway and the Kahului Airport.
