Residents can visit the Historic Charleston City Market, admire the College of Charleston’s beautiful coastal campus, enjoy the city’s spacious Waterfront Park, and try delicious restaurants like Fleet Landing, offering Southern seafood staples and a waterfront patio!
The North Central neighborhood has access to interstate highways such as I-26 on the area’s western boundary, and is nestled between Ashely River and Cooper River. Directly west of the neighborhood, you’ll find Hampton Park, an expansive community space with a beautiful pond, sports fields, shady green space, playground, and even a dog park.

Property Ratings at 1000 King
I have rented apartments throughout the Charleston peninsula and this is the first "affordable" apartment that still offers easy access to restaurants, bars, parks and my job. The Palace is located on upper King Street in Hampton Park / Central neighborhood, a 3 block walk from Hampton Park. I am a short walk or bike ride to some of my favorite local restaurants such as Rodney Scott BBQ, Butcher & Bee, Moe's Tavern and Little Jack's Tavern. Plus, I can easily get to my favorite weekend brewery hang-outs, Palmetto and Revelry Breweries, to meet up with friend. The onsite property manager, Jennifer, is always available to answer questions and take care of misc maintenance items. Plus, unlike all other apartments on the peninsula, The Palace has parking spaces!!!!
I love my apartment. I have 3 little ones and I have enough space for them to do just about anything. I love that we are not cluttered. We are 2 minutes away from our gorgeous Hampton Park, minutes away from the historic Downtown Charleston and we are in walking distance of pretty much everything. We are minutes away from Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, North Charleston, and James Island where our beach is located. Not to mention our building was once a place that hosted lots of historic events, concerts, etc. We are in the heart of Charleston and a lot of history lives with us in our building.
