Too pricey

Stephen rocks

I've lived here since 2017 and the previous manager was HORRIBLE. BUT since Stephen took over we have upgrades to our apartments and whatever issues I've had he took care of immediately ??

so far so good from Scarlet

I've been living here for around 5 months. Here are some things I like about it: My cats like it, management is responsive and customer service oriented. I like that pest control leaves a note letting you know when someone has been in your apartment when not home. I am terrified of bugs and allergic to some of them so I'm pleased that I don't see any bugs in the apartment. I like the way the grounds look. They recently gave us new toilets and nest thermostats so they are making relevant upgrades. I look forward to when covid goes away so that we can return to office package pickup. I like that they return your calls and you can set up automatic payments. They also have a lockout service and management lives on site. It's super close to my work so I'm pleased with it. If I had it to do over again I might have waited for a hardwood floor apartment to open up vs. the carpet, but I'm generally happy here. Keep up the good work.

A Great Place to Live

I've lived at Wood Gardens since June 2020, and I have nothing but great things to say. First of all, the staff is super friendly and always helpful! Last week, they put in new upgrades including the Google Nest thermostat ( to save on my power bill), a new toilet (doesn't seem like a big deal, but it is to me) and new LED lights. They are working on a huge area for a new dog park too that will be finished in a few weeks. I've been extremely happy living here and hope this review helps with anyone looking for a nice apartment complex.

Great Property

I have a three bedroom two bathroom on property. Quiet Community, Plenty of parking, Great Layout, Pool is great place to relax on a hot summer day. Staff is very friendly any time i have a maintenance issues gets fixed in a timely manner. Me and my family love it here.

If you make the mistake of living here, at least avoid AT&T

Wood Gardens has the most unresponsive, slow moving, arrogant, and sarcastic management I have ever come across. If you live here, at least avoid the AT&T rep they recommend. You’ll never get your internet. I would not recommend this apartment.

Wonderful place to be

I have enjoyed my time here and have had nothing but wonderful experiences with the staff. Amanda and Terri really know how to make you feel at home and take care of anything that arises with promptness. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

Not what I expected!!!

Ok so after going over the reviews on here I wanted to try it out for myself, some of the things are true and some aren’t true!!!!! But let me just say this I called about things in my apartment needing to be fixed they came to fix it but they use old stuff it’s like they take from other units to fix things then on top of that my carpet wasn’t NEW when I moved in they just had it cleaned and I know this because I worked at Lowe’s and I know new carpet nothing was fixed when we did the walk through!!!! Don’t let the pic of the pool get you excited because I took my kids out there yesterday the water was nasty it stank down there it smells like a fish tank the pool wasn’t pumping at all it didn’t even have chlorine in it!!!! I can’t wait till my lease is up!!!

We are sorry that you are disappointed. We always steam clean carpet if it will not be replaced. If there are some issues with your apartment,please call us at 205-987-1387 to give us an opportunity to correct whatever issues you are having. Our pool is safe and is tested daily. It is normally closed on Mondays and we apologize that it was closed a few days last week due to an issue, so if you were at the pool early last week, it was closed due to a repair. We look forward to working with you.

Not a Good Experience

Read your lease before signing people especially the fine print. The apartment complex is not all great as people making it out to be. Move in and see for yourself, do a thorough walk through and have a flashlight handy, take notes. They will try and fixed the apartment up and cover things up in order for you to fall in love with it to get you to move in. The appliances and cabinets are old, some plugs don't work, they cover up mold and mildew, they spot paint over stuff to make it look like it's fixed. Pest control is a joke... Big turnover rate with the maintenance guys, some of them don't have a clue what there doing, or will half fix it... Nicky is the only staff member in that office who is descent, and she haven't been there long. Compared to the other two managers: fake and liars...

Maintenance STAFF is HORRIBLE, and so is MANAGEMENT

In response to one of the tenants who says don't read these fake reviews, some of these negative reviews are not fake, and some of us can read the fine print in a lease before signing it. But that has nothing to do with how shady and liars these individuals can be towards some tenants who do at least pay there rent on time and cause no problems. I don't care what kind of good reviews you give. Anyway there turnover rate with these maintenance guys are a red flag, half of them do not have any clue as to what there doing or they half do there job. There are distractions with there personal cell phone calls, they just in and out your apartment saying they'll be back but come back an hour later. They say there is 24 hour maintenance on the lease, for all or any type of emergency but yet the maintenance guy tells me, he don't get paid to work on Saturday, but yet I see him up at the dumpster working. They come in your apartment and conversate, about rappers, etc but none of that has to do with what you come to fix in the apartment or the job you came to do. Management (Terri and Amanda), there a joke, fake, and liars who think they have everyone fooled... See for yourself once you move in... Nicky, is probably the only descent one who works in that office...

Please don't get wrong opinion based on reviews. I stayed there for 2 years and had a good pleasant experience. The office staff was very nice and always fixed issues promptly. I had one issue that took longer but the office apologized for the delay. When i left the apartment they promptly refunded the deposit back. I really liked staying here. They have a nice pool. WOOD GARDENS IS AMAZING!!

Don’t let these fake reviews get to you! This community is so helpful and will come quickly to any emergency situation! People don’t know how to read there leases so they get mad when they’re charged for stuff that’s clearly written in there lease THEY SIGNED!! Nikki, Amanda, and Terri are the sweetest girls ever and will do anything to help you!! They’re always so happy to see you and will even address you by name knowing there’s 300 plus people here. Oh and if you have a fur baby they have treats on there desk for them! THEY’RE LITERALLY THE BEST APARTMENT COMMUNITY I HAVE EVER LIVED AT!! it’s an old property so leaks do happen but they jump right on it and fix the problem! DONT LISTEN TO THESE FAKE REVIEWS FROM ANGRY PEOPLE WHO CANT READ THERE LEASES!! go in and rent from them with there amazing prices and awesome specials always going on!! 10/10 WILL ALWAYS RECOMMEND WOOD GARDENS!!!!!

WORST PLACE EVER!!!!

Office staff is very unprofessional and unorganized. Maintenance comes in with fake requests and goes through your personal items. Emergency lines gets turned off when you call more than once. They will laugh at you when you try to hold them to their lease. Terri is very rude!!!!!!!!!!

Overall Negative Experience

Staff is very rude and unprofessional. They do not care about basic human needs such as AC in the middle of he summer. There is no sense of urgency to fix maintenance emergencies. Problems are solely fixed during business hours and not even sometime then completed. They will charge you HUNDREDS of dollars for the smallest of things, VERY money hungry organization as a whole. Will give you a unit without first walking through it. HUGE bug problem.

Overall poor

Staff is very unprofessional and lies. They will leave you without central air during the middle of the Alabama summer for SEVERAL days. They treat maintenance emergencies with no sense of urgency. Make sure you do a THOROUGH walk through before signing the lease because they will give you a unit that needs serious repairs. Very money hungry organization overall. They will charge you hundreds of dollars for little to nothing regardless of your situation. HUGE bug problem and CONSTANTLY turning the water off.

Unfortunately, it is very hard to control leaks and sometimes it is necessary to turn the water off to make repairs properly. Maintenance Covers Up and Hides Black Mold

I moved from Huntsville to Hoover at the end of January to begin a new job. I toured several apartment buildings prior to deciding on Wood Gardens after touring their staged apartment for showing. They had a two bedroom two bath apartment that was going to be ready in approximately one weeks’ time. I told them on a Saturday that I wanted it and would be in to sign the lease on the following Saturday. They assured me it would be ready and I would have to have proof that I had the utilities turned on and renter's insurance for the apartment prior to signing the lease. During that week, I did all of that, gave notice to the apartment complex I was living in and the utilities I had there, began forwarding my mail, put a deposit on a U-Haul truck for the move and made work arrangements for myself and two family members to move all of my belongings the following week. When I came in to sign the lease I asked to tour the actual apartment first. As soon as I walked in, I was overcome with the smell of mold and mildew. There were roaches everywhere and a previously live roach stuck to the wall and painted over the top of. There was visible mold coming through the sheetrock and the hallway and one of the bathrooms, visible mold under both bathroom vanities, visible mold under the kitchen sink, and visible mold throughout the lower kitchen cabinets. There was water still leaking inside the wall between the kitchen and bathroom, puddling in the bathroom floor. The leasing agent was very apologetic and had been told by the maintenance man that the apartment was completely ready for me to move in. I was under a deadline since I had already started my new job and could not commute back and forth from Huntsville, where I had previously been living, and had already made all of the necessary arrangements to be out of my previous apartment by a certain time. I did this under the assumption that the apartment was ready for me to move in just like I had been promised by them. We agreed that she would have her maintenance men come in immediately and make the repairs as quickly as possible and I would work around them with my move that I was already so committed to.**Continued in next review due to maximum length**

don't rent here / front office doesn't care about you

I lived at this complex for 2 years and it wasn't bad at first. It is next to impossible to get things fixed in your apartment I have gone numerous times to put in work orders and when I go for a status I find out the office ladies never put them in. They are too busy on their phones to pay attention to you. The crime has gone up - besides apartments being burglarized now cars are being broken into. They don't let you know either - you find out from neighbors or the hoover police facebook postings on the monthly apt crime report. Also, there is dog poo everywhere. Why don't they make the pet owners pick it up? They are too focused on their front office looking pristine than the complex as a whole. BTW - pool is full of drunk people with open containers and unsupervised kids throughout the summer. To comment on the workout room - the equipment is old and not functioning. You have 1 pin for all the weight machine - hate it if 2 people are in there trying to work out - it's not happening. Will not be renewing my lease - will def move somewhere where they fix things and enforce the rules.

Wood Gardens Apartments

I have lived in the complex nearly four years. The main staff has remained the same. Maintenance staff currently is very helpful and friendly. I enjoy how peaceful my building is and my friendly neighbors. All concerns are addressed sometimes not in the time frame i request, but they are handled.

Wood Gardens Apartments

Excellent location but staff is not attentive to maintenance needs that are non-emergent. Ragedy kitchen appliances, 1/2 of the electrical outlets don't work. Pool and workout room are a plus.
