About The Greenhouse

The Greenhouse was designed by Thomas Kimball, a prominent Omaha architect. He also designed St. Cecilia's Cathedral. Constructed in 1907 at a cost of $190,000, The Greenhouse was designed for Catherine Nash and became part of the Nash block in historic Jobbers Canyon. The first tenant of the building was the M.E. Smith Company, Omaha's largest dry goods company at the time.

McKesson and Robbins, a New York based wholesale drug company occupied The Greenhouse from the late 1930's to 1979. The building sat vacant until 1985, at which time development of The Greenhouse commenced. The Greenhouse was ready for occupancy in 1987 and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
