Highlands Douglass

Highlands Douglass -- or Douglass, as the neighborhood is often called -- lies five miles southeast of downtown Louisville in the popular part of town called The Highlands. In addition to easy access to other parts of town via I-64 and I-264, Douglass residents enjoy the thriving shopping, dining and entertainment scene on Bardstown Road right in their own neighborhood.

Those looking to relocate to Highlands Douglass have a wide range of housing choices available to them. Development in the area first began in the 1920s; however, during the Great Depression, construction in the neighborhood slowed greatly. It wasn't completed until 1952. As a result, Douglass has a unique mixture of early 20th-century historical revival and craftsmen houses with mid-century ranch-style houses.
