About Leather Trades Artist Lofts

Located in the downtown warehouse district, Leather Trades Artist Lofts is ideally situated for working artist and cultural workers to live, create, and connect in one of the most established arts scene in St. Louis. Leather Trades Artist Lofts consists of 86 affordable homes for working artists and cultural workers.

Lofts feature open one and two-bedroom floorplans with approximately 10-foot ceilings and large windows for plenty of natural light. Many homes incorporate walk in closets, painted accent walls and sliding barn doors.

Lofts are also eco-conscious, with 95% efficient water pump heat systems, fluorescent lighting, low flow showerheads, low flush toilets, and ceiling fans in each bedroom. Kitchens are equipped with energy star rated appliances (including dishwashers and built-in microwaves), wine racks, and 42" maple cabinetry. Underground parking spaces are available and a full size washer & dryer is included in each home.

Our community at Leather Trades Artist Lofts incorporates several working studio spaces for artists who live in the building. A painting & drawing studio with 16 foot ceilings overlooks Locust Street. A pottery studio with fully vented kiln provides room to wedge and sculpt. Dancers and musicians benefit from a spacious dance studio with cushioned hardwood floors and a studio for media and music. In addition, a fully equipped fitness center with free weights, cardio equipment, and flat screen TVs and a community room with a fireplace and large kitchen are available for residents' use.
