What is the Property Listing Updater?
The Property Updater is a password-protected application, accessible through Apartments.com, which allows advertisers to change all aspects of their premium ad(s) on Apartments.com except billing information and any photos in the ad. Customer Support can handle changes to these items.
There are two levels of access: Individual Property Access and Management Level Access. |

What is Individual Property Access?
Individual Property Access grants a user access to change the information in the online ad for just one property. |

What is Management Level Access?
Management Level Access grants selected users access to all properties under the same Management Company that are advertising on Apartments.com. If you log in with Management Level Access, you will be able to pick and chose which property ads to update without having to enter in a separate username and password for each individual property. |

How can I get a username and password for the Property Listing Updater?
The username and password for Individual Property Access is sent to you when your online ad goes live. If you have lost the username or password, or need to make a change to it, you can contact Customer Support.
The username and password for Management Level Access will be distributed to the Contract Signing Authority plus any additional individuals that the Contract Signing Authority indicates also needs Management Level Access. The username and password can be obtained by having the Contract Signing Authority submitting a request to Apartments.com by fax: 1-800-416-0216 or email: support@apartments.com and include the following information:
Subject: Property Updater
Name and title of requestor:
Release to: [Name and title of authorized individual]
E-mail or fax number:
Signature: [Only necessary for faxed requests] |

What can I do with the Property Listing Updater?
You can make changes to your online ad in the following areas:
- Rents and deposits
- Community features and amenities
- Community short and long descriptions
- Model/floorplan features and amenities
- Model/floorplan descriptions
- Leasing offices hours
- Pet policies
- Directions
- Parking information
- Utility information
- and much, much more.

What can't I do with Property Listing Updater?
You will be able to make change to almost all aspects of your premium ad(s) on Apartments.com. However, because of security issues and Fair Housing regulations, there will be some information that you will not have access to via the Property Updater.
In particular, the following areas must be handled by Customer Support:
- Property name
- Property address
- Contact information (property phone number, property fax number, and email address)
- Billing or contract issues
- Photographs or floorplans
- Location map
- Lead or Activity Report destinations

After logging in, do I need to provide both an email address and a phone number?
No, but one of the two is required for the changes to be accepted and processed by the Property Updater.
Also, in order to receive an email confirmation of the changes your submitted through the Property Updater, you will need to provide us with a valid email address. |

Our fax / phone / email address has changed. Can I change this in the Property Updater?
Unfortunately contact information is not available to change through the Property Updater. Please contact Customer Support at support@apartments.com. |

Do I need any special software to use the Property Listing Updater?
Because the Property Updater is accessed via the Internet, you only need a web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. However, do to the complexity of the Property Updater application, we ask that you use a web browser that fits these minimum requirements.
Minimum Property Updater Requirements
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher - OR - Netscape Navigator 4.7 or higher
- Web browser must have JavaScript enabled
- A valid email address to receive confirmation of the changes made via the Property Updater

What if I have JavaScript disabled in my web browser?
For the Property Updater application to operate correctly, you need to have JavaScript enabled in your web browser. |

How do I know if I have or don't have JavaScript enabled in my web browser?
By default, every web browser comes with JavaScript enabled. So unless you have made some custom changes to your web browser, JavaScript is enabled. If you are still unsure, you should check with your company's technical support staff. |

I want to update multiple properties without having to re-log in for each property. How can I do this?
In order to make changes to multiple properties without having to re-log in for each individual property, you will need Management Company Access. Management Level Access grants selected users access to all properties under the same Management Company that are advertising on Apartments.com. If you log in with Management Level Access, you will be able to pick and chose which property ads to update without having to enter in a separate username and password for each individual property. |

I just made updates to my ad and realized I forgot to make some changes. How soon can I go back to make these changes?
To make sure that the changes you recently submitted are properly process by the Property Updater application and make it into our database of property information, you will need to wait at least 2 hours. |

I just want to update rent prices. Do I need to go through the whole application?
If you have Management Level access, then you will not have to go through the whole application. When you log into the Property Updater application, you will have the option of doing a Full Edit or a Quick Edit. The Full Edit will allow you to see and edit all fields available via the Property Updater. The Quick Edit allows you to just make changes to the rents and deposits for the property.
However, if you have Individual Property access, then you will have to go through the entire application. |

Are there any restrictions on what I can put in my property and model descriptions?
Apartments.com follows Fair-Housing Guidelines. These rules ensure that renters are not discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status or handicap. When you submit changes to your property and/or model descriptions, the content will be screened for any wording that might be in violation of the Fair-Housing Guidelines. If that is this case, the Property Updater will ask you to make changes to the text before it will accept the new property and/or model description.

Apartments.com also does not allow any HTML, XML, JavaScript, or any other markup or coding language in the property or model descriptions. If the Property Updater application finds anything resembling these languages in the property and/or model descriptions, it will be removed. |

Why can't I make changes to the photos in my ad through the Property Updater?
There are two reasons for this. First, because of our own imposed image quality standards, a representative of our ad production team needs to review these images to make sure they are formatted and sized appropriately. Second, in order for us to comply with Fair-Housing Guidelines, it is necessary for us to review the content of the images.

Can I add additional models or floorplans through the Property Updater?
Unfortunately, at this time the only way to add additional models or floorplans to your existing premium ad is to contact Customer Support at support@apartments.com. |

Who can make changes to my ads with the Property Updater?
Because the Property Updater is accessed by a unique password, only those authorized by you can make changes. The password for individual property access will be sent to you when your ad goes live. The password for Management level access can be obtained by contacting Customer Support. |

I've made my changes in the Property Updater? How can I be sure they were accepted?
Once you've submitted your changes, the Property Updater will display a final page that will show whether you changes were accepted or rejected. If you provided an email address when you logged into the Property Updater, then you will receive an email confirmation of your changes.
If your changes were rejected, you are encouraged to contact Customer Support at support@apartments.com. |

I received errors while updating. What should I do?
Email Customer Support at support@apartments.com and include the tracking number the Property Updater provided on the final page after you submitted your changes or in the email Property Updater sent you after receiving your changes.
