Endless amenities and so much more
Lynnewood Gardens Apartments are a perfect fit for anyone who enjoys a quiet, natural setting which is close to various shops and restaurants that are accessible by walking and the various modes of public transportation in the area. The buildings feature various floor plans to accommodate families of any sizes. My particular unit is a 2 bedroom, one bathroom with an abundance of natural light and living space. The rent is very affordable for the location, amenities and the amount of square footage that is available. Additionally, Lynnewood Gardens offers a variety of amenities that range from clean and efficient laundry facilities to a brand new, beautiful club house where residents may go to play pool, work out in the modern Fitness Center, and utilize the business center for conference, and administrative needs. The community features a pool, tennis and basketball courts, along with endless tree lined courtyards that are all connected with a walkway which is perfect for a relaxing walk through a natural setting. Oh, and did I mention that center city Philadelphia is only a 20 minute drive away!
Good, but could use some remodelling
We have been living here for a little over a year and everything has been good except for some cosmetic issues. Whoever painted the apartment before us must have been drunk because there is spots of paint on the hardwood floor as well as drips of paint on the walls and doors. The molding is coming apart and the radiators are falling apart as well and look terrible. Also the hardwood floors have spaces in between the boards where crumbs and dirt collect. They're beautiful floors but the cracks are a pain to clean. Also, our ceiling in the bathroom leaked and was fixed and covered with drywall but it's now a huge lump on the ceiling that is ugly. Also, the oven and dishwasher are very cheap. The countertop in the kitchen is excellent but the cabinets not so much. It's a great price and community (even though there is crime and cops constantly in the neighborhood), but I just wish they'd fix the cosmetic issues. I appreciate the landscapers and maintenance as well as the leasing office and new club house.
I like it enough to consider renewing my lease
Moved in a few months ago (close to a year) and I am happy. Snow removal was rough but it was a HUGE storm. Maintenance is quick to come out and I have had no issues with management. I like the gym and club house, I am planning on joining it soon. I hear they have a trainer according to one of my neighbors, and he is supposedly good. This is close to my work in Ft. Washington and traffic is usually not bad unless there is an accident on 309. Moving in was okay but the parking was hard for the moving truck, good thing I had a bunch of people to help me move. Overall I would say it is a good value for your money, I like the original wood floors (it is an older community).
The Worst Place to Live
I am a current Lynnwood Gardens tenant and this is the WORST place to live! The management here is beyond unprofessional and extremely rude! They only care about one thing your money! They are lie to their tenants and do not care about them as a landlord should. Let me get straight to the point! They failed to tell their tenants they has a series of burglaries and by series I mean 15! Yes 15! When I first found out what was going on I immediately called on behalf of all of my neighbors and they told me if I was so concerned that I should purchase a security system! Who wants to have to spend more money on a security system when you pay enough in rent and that you should feel safe in your home! Needless to say the property manager did not care about how I felt about my safety and the safety of my family! He never even disclosed exactly how many burglaries had occurred it wasn't until two weeks after that they sent letters to their residents. I found out home many burglaries actually occurred because I spoke with a local police officer. The officer too was surprised as well as disappointed that they could be so unprofessional as to not disclose what was occurring to their tenants. cont. on another review.
Know What You Are Getting Into
I currently live at the Lynnewood gardens and I wanted this to be fair and real review. Please ignore the fake reviews such as: "Endless amenities and so much more." I'm a marketing professional...we are the only ones who write like that. No real tenant will write a whole essay on what their experience was like that sounds like a marketing piece. Anyway to my actual review, please don't ignore the other reviews that you see here (the real ones). Yes this place does have bugs (roaches and centipedes in my case) heard of others, and mice. If you are comfortable with seeing a big roach (seriously, they are incredibly huge with wings) every now and then crawling in your kitchen or in your bathroom, then, you should be fine. Also prepare for the possibility of mice. I was lied to when I was moving in, I specifically asked if they had checked and sealed all mice holes because I'm really afraid of mice. I was told that they would have someone come out have that checked. Ofcourse they didn't, and there was no way I could verify that information. I moved in, within a few months everything was ok, then I started seeing the mice, the maintenance crew came to "seal holes" but then I kept seeing them. They came once again, it stopped for a while but now it's started again. Then on to the centipedes...even though the extermination was supposed to help it never quite did. I see them everywhere, living area, bathroom, bedroom you name it. I was told by staff member that I shouldn't worry too much about it since it's becoming cold and that she lived with them too. Seriously? The last and most annoying thing of all is that they really have the audacity to increase rent, when you are basically living in a subpar apartment with rodents, claiming the market value of an apartment has increased. Well...market value? I'm guessing that's for apartments without the same issues. So far the maintenance and management crew keeps making excuses such as, "oh you are living in a multi-family community, things like this are bound to happen." They will never get to the root of the problem. Instead of making excuses, each time someone calls for extermination for one thing, they should go to other apartments around, and treat them as well. Other than that...it's not a bad community or place to live, and to be fair the maintenance team comes out every time I report an issue but if you are spooked out by the thought of living with rodents please stay away!
Not what it looks like.
The pictures posted here are from the newly built gym facilities on the LWG grounds. The apartments are the model apartments you see when you come visit. The actual apartments are run down, new kitchens in only a select few; over run with mice an roaches; staff is not receptive to any issues that may arise in substandard living facilities; they control the heat so don't get cold!!! before October 15th or after April 15th!! As far as LWG goes looks are very deceiving!!!!!!
Good, but I was expecting excellence
Looking in from the outside, Lynnewood Gardens seems to be an excellent place to live. Great location and landscaping and very uniformed units. When I viewed the 2br model apartment, it was perfect. I was immediately sold. I asked was the unit I would be moving into be an exact replica... well, of course I was told yes, with the exception of the flooring. When I received my keys and toured my unit, it was very similar to the model unit. I was ecstatic until I noticed how badly painted it was. The paint job looks as if a lazy amateur completed the job. There were indentations in the walls and doors. The bathroom....., the bathroom tile and tub seemed to be painted over with regular paint. I was told later that they spray the tub and tile with a paint specifically used to make the bathroom look new again. So, if you're looking for a place to live Lynnewood Gardens isn't bad for the price and they offer plenty amenities. The best being the clubhouse and fitness center. However, I would recommend renting an updated unit, which are practically brand new everything. They're a little more costly, but it's worth it.
Pay for what you get
It is on the cheaper side but Lynnwood is good for the value. We had some issues when moving in from keys not being ready to bugs in our apartment. The staff was very helpful and quick with correcting the issues.
This apartment complex provides above average living space. It is conveniently located to public transportation, shopping areas and highway access. The area school district is also good. Nice landscaping, playgrounds for kids and pool. There is a new gym opening soon, which is also a plus. For me, the downside to these apartments is the lack of a washer and dryer in the unit. They do provide a laundry facility but this can often mean spending time waiting on laundry, time that could be better utilized elsewhere.. I would recommend considering this apartment complex as a family dwelling.
The setting is very peaceful. Property is well maintained and very family oriented.
my first apartment
This is my first apartment and I love it. It's quiet, beautiful neighborhood and close to everything. Been here for 9 years already and still going strong. I have had no problems or issues with anything or anyone. We are getting a fitness center and I can't wait.
"My Home, away from home."
The building that I share with my sister is a home away from home. It is cute, and just the right size for us. We are college students and it is the perfect fit. They have given the front a beautiful face lift, greenery and trees aline our streets. We are very close to the laundry mat, near plenty public transportation and shopping facilities. We are away from home but, not far away and this apartment keeps us close to home as well as school! This apartment has served us very well !!!
The grounds of the apartment are very nice. However the apartments are very outdated and small. There are no amenties, like central air, security, and it's not really and close to any shops more like the neighborhood stores. Once you leave the grounds you are minutes away from city. Overall I'd give 3 stars.
Better Than Buying!
Living in an apartment in a quiet, peaceful setting is wonderful in itself. When you add in the amenities: Olympic sized pool, fitness center, free wifi in the spacious laundry facility, with beautiful courtyards, now that's living! In addition to all of these wonderful things, you never have to worry about mowing your lawn or snow removal, these things are all a part of the deal, at a reasonable price! Yes, apartment living can be better than buying - think of the time you will save on weekends because someone else is doing the maintenance for you! Love it!!!!
Best in the area
I have lived in a one bedroom unit fit the past two years and I have few complaints. The neighborhood is relatively safe and quiet, maintenance calls are answered promptly and effectively, and I've only seen three bugs since moving in. My only complaints are the size of the kitchen and bathroom and how hot my bedroom is all year round, but otherwise, Lynnewood Gardens has been a dream.
