Q: I don't have an email address. Can I still purchase an online ad?
A: We're sorry but at this time an email address is necessary in order to purchase an online ad.

Q: I own four rental units that are spread across the city, do I need to purchase an individual ad for each of my available units?
A: Yes. We do not accept listings that advertise more than one apartment unit in a single FRBO listing.

Q: I manage an apartment building that has several units, about 40 units in total. Do I have to purchase an online ad for each unit?
A: If you manage to own buildings with several units or have re-occurring vacancies, you may find our Premium Ad Packages better fit your needs. Contact our sales department at 888-658-RENT for more information. However, if you do not choose to use a Premium Ad Package then yes you would need to purchase an online ad for each unit.

Q: I just bought an online ad, how can I be sure that my order was taken?
A: If you have successfully purchased an online ad from Apartments.com, the last web page (Thank You page) in the order submission process will display your Ad Identification Number. This Ad ID will serve as your verification that Apartments.com has processed your order and your ad will appear online shortly. Make sure you save you Ad ID. You will need it in any correspondence with Apartments.com regarding your online ad. In addition, you should receive an email shortly after your purchase from Apartments.com confirming your order.

Q: When will my ad appear online?
A: In order to prevent fraud and maintain a safe experience for both advertisers and renters, each ad undergoes a thorough screening process that takes 24 to 48 hours from when the ad was entered. Please note: Ads entered after hours, holidays and on weekends may not be processed until the next business day.

Q: What is an Ad ID?
A: An Ad ID is short for Ad Identification Number. You receive your Ad ID after Apartments.com has successfully processed your order for an online advertisement. The Ad Id appears on the last web page (Thank You page) in the order submission process and is a numeric number such as 09027123456789.

Q: How do I log into my account?
A:On the right hand side of the Apartments.com home page there is a section titled “Fill Your Vacancy”. Click on the ‘Renew/Edit’ link under the orange ‘Place an Ad’ button. Here you will enter your e-mail address and password. Once we have captured this information you will be logged into your account.

Q: How can I make changes to my ad?
A: First you must log into your account. Once you are logged into your account you can make changes to your live ad. You can edit rents, contact information and amenities. If you need to make other changes, please email your requests to rentbyowner@apartments.com and be sure to include your Ad ID Number.

Q: How do I find my ad on Apartments.com?
A: To view your ad, simply perform a search on Apartments.com for the community and rent range that fits your property. Your search result set will contain your property's ad. It may not appear on the first page of properties, and you may have to scroll through all properties matching your search criteria by clicking on the subsequent page number or “Next Page&rdquo link located at the bottom of the page.
 
Another option is to use the City/State or Zip feature on the Apartments.com homepage; this option is listed under “Search by&rdquo to the left of the map. Type in the City and State or Zip that your property is listed under. Again, you may have to scroll through the ads until you find yours.

Q: How do I include a photo with my ad?
A:All ad packages except for the Basic Ad Package allow for up to 20 photos at no additional cost. During the online ad creation process, the instructions will prompt you on how to attach your photos to the ad. If for any reason, the system is unable to accept your photos, you may attach them to an e-mail addressed to rentbyowner@apartments.com and a member of our support team will upload them for you. Please include the Ad ID Number that appears on screen at the end of the ad creation process. It serves as a reference whenever you correspond with Apartments.com regarding your online ad.

Q: Why would my photo(s) be rejected?
A: Please Note: In order to comply with U.S. federal housing guidelines, Apartments.com must reject photos if they contain any of the following: people, alcohol or tobacco products, religious or holiday items, branded items (such as Mickey Mouse, Coca-Cola, etc.), or if the photos were copyrighted by someone other than yourself. Please check your photos for these issues before you upload them. Submitting a photo in violation of these standards will delay the processing of your advertisement.

Q: How do I get a copy of my online ad?
A: You may print out your ad from the Apartments.com site at any time.

Q: My apartment is rented but my ad is still posted online. How do I get a refund or credit?
A: All sales are final. Apartments.com will not issue refunds. However, you may e-mail rentbyowner@apartments.com to have your ad removed from the website. Please be sure to include your Ad ID Number to be used as a reference number to locate your ad.

Q: I've placed more than one ad on Apartments.com. How will I be able to distinguish these ads on my credit card bill?
A: The Ad ID Number provided by Apartments.com when you submitted your ad will appear in the line item information on your credit card bill.

Q: I would like to extend my online ad. How can I do this?
A: First, log into your account by clicking on the ‘Renew/Edit’ link on the Apartments.com home page. Once you are logged in you will have access to renew your ad from the ‘My Account’ page. Once you have located the ad you would like to renew, simply click the orange “Renew&rdquo button. Before renewing, you have the option of making any changes to your ad.

Q: What if I don't have a property name?
A: Use this space to include an Ad Headline such as "Great 1 Bedroom near the lake." This is a required field so please include either a property name or a headline.

Q: How specific does my property address need to be?
A: A Complete address will ensure that those who respond to your ad are interested in your location. For example "175 W. Jackson" or "Wells St. and Jackson" are more specific than "Downtown Chicago."

Q: What phone number should I provide?
A: Enter the number where you are able to be reached by those interested in your ad.

Q: Will I be contacted by phone, e-mail or both?
A: Both are required and will be displayed on your ad. Those interested will contact you by the method of their choice.

Q: What information is required in this section?
A: All fields with a red asterisk are required in order for your ad to be processed. Those fields of information are: rent amount, lease length, number of bedrooms and number of bathrooms. The other fields are optional.

Q: Is there anything I can't say in the Apartment Description?
A: Apartments.com follows Fair-Housing Guidelines. These rules ensure that renters are not discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status or handicap. Your text will be reviewed before your ad becomes active.

Q: Can I add a photo after my ad is active?
A: You may add or update your photos after your ad is active by logging into your account via the Apartments.com home page. Simply click on the ‘Edit/Renew’ link in the “Fill Your Vacancy&rdquo section of the home page. Once you have entered your email address and password, you will be taken to your ‘My Account’ page. From here select the ad you would like to add photos to and click on the ‘Edit ‘option. Once you are in the ‘Edit/Renew ‘page scroll down to the ‘Photo Review’ section and click on the ‘Edit’ link on the right hand side. The instructions will prompt you on how to manage the photos in your ad. If for any reason, the system is unable to accept your photos, you may attach them to an e-mail addressed to rentbyowner@apartments.com and a member of our support team will upload them for you. A:If your debit card is backed by one of the major credit cards selected from the pull down menu, it can be used to pay for your ad.
