Simply One of the Best
I (and others) have lived here for decades for good reason. The lovely old low-rise buildings, grounds and apartments are maintained to the highest level. The management and maintenance teams have little turnover and seem committed to keeping this a great place to live. You cannot beat the neighborhood for closeness to two Metro stops and bus lines, an abundance of restaurants and shops, and the National Zoo and Rock Creek Park as a back yard! The neighborhood is also relatively safe thanks to residents and tourists being out and about. You do not have to scurry home at dusk. Though situated in this busy urban area, many apartments, especially the ones in back, have the quiet feel of living in the woods. Extras include a free and well-maintained exercise room, roof decks for viewing fireworks from the National Mall or lounging, and picnic tables and grills to name a few. Perhaps the main drawback is that the laundry is in the basement. And though the residents are generally fairly quiet grownups, if the odd inconsiderate person happens to live above you in these 1920s buildings, that can be less than ideal. Such residents usually move on or change, though. The heating units could be more efficient and hopefully will be in the future. And if you opt for street parking, it can be a challenge in the evenings. Still, I fell in love with the place the first time I saw it all those years ago, and it just gets better.
Having a Good Quality of Life
Living with Quality of Life Moving from New York my expectation was high and I was not sure If I can able to find a place quiet and fun. My girlfriend and I, we have been searching an apartment close to her work and close to downtown. We found Connecticut Plaza exactly what we were looking. I fell in love with this place close to everywhere restaurants, bars, cafes, supermarkets, library, parks, zoo, lots of greens, and easy transportation's. This is perfect location in the Washington, DC metropolitan area just 5 to 10 minutes away everywhere; DuPont Circle, Adams Morgan, Downtown, Friendship Heights and others. My girlfriend has to moved this place and I came to visit her during the weekend after a while I moved. I have been very satisfied moved to Connecticut Plaza because Connection Plaza has many facilities such as fitness center, laundry, community room, rooftop lounge, sundeck, courtyard, barbecue, picnic area, bike storage, parking garage and many others. The size of apartment is great I have huge walking closet my guess can stay overnight, open space living room, and good size kitchen. And also has many luxury kitchen equipment's. 24-hours service makes your life easy, what I m looking for? Great management they always check buildings needs. All staff are friendly and they love their job whatever I need they always do their best. Office workers are very professional and friendly. It was very easy to moved. The management helped me a lot for moving process and documents needed. Connecticut Plaza Apartments are old style buildings with wonderful updates which make them looked modern. The shapes of buildings are great reminded me some of European building in Spain where I lived before. Great walking side for exercising such as walking, running, and riding bicycle. I really love to live here because I'm stressed out living place like that waking up with natural birds sounds every morning! I feel like in peace living Connecticut Plaza Apartment. I strongly suggest to live here I m sure you'll love to live here. Thank you Hasan Ucak
Life is Good at Connecticut Plaza
I have been exceptionally happy living at Connecticut Plaza for many years in a beautiful and very well maintained building. Perfectly situated just 2 blocks from the Woodley Park Metro, and with the National Zoo as our backyard, one couldn’t ask for a nicer neighborhood. The apartments are spacious – mine with a view of the woods of the Zoo – and the roof deck alone is worth the price of admission with some of the best views in the city including sunsets each evening behind the National Cathedral. And all within handy walking distance are numerous great restaurants, drugstores, an organic foods market, a public library, and a historic movie theater great for premiers. I count myself as really lucky to live here and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in DC!
Lots of light, trees and life
I have been living here for 3 years and a half. When I found the apartment, I was happy about having a window in every single room, the sound from the birds in the zoo and being just a bridge away to Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle or Cleveland Park. After two years, I was moving out of the country and was already selling all the furniture when plans changed. By this time, already loved the area, so I started looking again and in the end just came back. I like being in the middle of the city and knowing people by their names and having my favorite stores and restaurants around. The same friendly staff, the Rock Creek Park around the corner, and another bright unit. When is sunny, have a barbecue at the grill outside or enjoy a good book in the rooftop. If the weather is not supportive, use the gym.
When you travel across the Atlantic in pursuit for happiness, you just want to find place you can call home. I think that every human being is searching for that little perfect place where he want to stay forever. I found that in Plaza apartments, Connecticut Avenue, Washington DC. Let´s go from beginning and start from the face and image of company. Presentation is everything and I can tell that Plaza apartments has excellent management office and they have shown their fexibility and professional approach in so many ways. With them you will feel warm and welcomed even if you are just passing by and want to take a glimpse on the property which me and my girlfriend did at first place. Plaza apartments is block of four buildings surrounded by Connecticut avenue, Cathedral street and beautiful Woodley park Zoo. It is a great spot in peaceful and safe neighbourhood which is perfect for families and couples. If you walk 3 minutes toward the Metro you will find Macdonald´´s, bank, CVS pharmacy, variety store and great selection of restaurants with Indian, Japanese, American and Italian food. You can do everything within walking distance and without leaving your neighbourhood. Woodley park Metro station is just 3 minutes away and you can be in down town in just 15 min which make you really flexible and saves your time a lot. For young, night life lovers there is also a good news, Adams Morgan is just around the corner. Great spot for fun with lots of clubs and bars and a lot of amazing stuff to do. Building itself is in great shape and indoor area is always clean and inviting. There are four 24/7 things I just adore. Gym, laundry room, maintenance crew and rooftop area with beautiful city view. Everything is in perfect order and labelled so you clearly can see where are certain things located, which makes everything easier. I know from personal experience that searching for a good place to live is stressful and exhausting and takes a lot of energy. I hope that some of this lines you´ll find helpful and that my thoughts will encourage you to stop by in Plaza apartments. You can just take a look or take a tour, but I assure you that there is some kind of magic here that will make you stay. Maybe forever.
Best Kept Secret in Woodley Park
I recently signed my third yearlong lease to my sunny 1BR 1BA in the meticulously maintained historical building on the corner of Connecticut and Cathedral. I initially was drawn to CP because of the cost, cleanliness, location, generous closets, hardwood floor and amenities (including access to a Zipcar, a gym, dry cleaning delivery, access to a reasonably priced guest suite and a recycling program). Since living here, I find the apartment to have lovely and caring neighbors who have lived here for a while and a gracious and responsive management and maintenance staffs. The recent online portal for rental parents and maintenance requests add to the existing customer service friendly atmosphere. I look forward to my next year- and possibly upgrading to a 1BR with a fireplace in the future.
I have had no problems with this apartment or the management since moving in a year ago (and signed a new lease to stay). It is in a perfect residential area and only a 5 minute walk to the metro. It is conveniently located in Woodley Park with easy access to Cleveland Park as well where there are many more restaurants, a movie theater, a supermarket and much more. The amount of space we get for the price is amazing especially being in DC. Being only one stop away from Dupont Circle the location is fabulous for getting in and out of the city. I would definitely recommend the building to anyone.
A Lovely Building in a Quaint Neighborhood
This is a lovely building in the heart of Woodley Park. It is located 5 minutes away from the National Zoo, and ten minutes away from the Woodley Park Metro stop. The street is very busy, filled with restaurants and a CVS. There is a beautiful park, called Rock Creek Park, adjacent to the street, where runners can run and dog lovers can walk their dogs. The apartment is spacious enough for two people to live comfortably; the bathroom is a bit small for two people, however. Overall, great building and amenities!
Great building, great location
Close to the Woodley Park metro, with more hip areas within walking distance (Adams Morgan) or a quick Circulator ride away (Columbia Heights, U Street). The building is older but has been recently totally renovated, and boasts a roof deck -- with gorgeous views down to the Mall, with the top of the National Cathedral peeking over the buildings just to the northwest -- and well-equipped fitness room. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful, and the building is well-maintained. Add in easy access to Rock Creek Park, and it's basically the perfect balance of city living!
Close to the National Zoo!
This building is centrally located and is a short walk to the metro, fantastic restaurants, and the National Zoo! Everything is clean and neat and the building operates like a well-oiled machine. Amenities include rooftop access, laundry room in the basement, access to the gym, and all packages are delivered directly into your unit. This is a great option if you are looking for convenience and comfort in the middle of the city!
Best Apartment Ever!
This apartment building community has it all - old charm but well maintained and superior staff. The location makes it so easy to get to downtown DC, but you also have the rare opportunity to see trees, grass and easy access to run through rock creek park - which is great! It's a short walk to the metro, and an even shorter walk to the zoo (think coffee baby panda Bao Bao) every morning. Really the best part of the apartment is that it has everything you need and it's hassle free. The gym is convenient and has basic machines and the roof is available to spend a nice spring afternoon or summer evening on. The staff are so efficient, friendly and really the building staff enable you to just LIVE YOUR LIFE, and enjoy your apartment while doing it. It's also affordable for the area, and definitely a great place to live!
Can't say enough about Connecticut Plaza
I'm maybe the single most person qualified to review the Connecticut Plaza complex, as over the last five years I've lived in all four buildings. I've lived in a studio (with a roommate), a 1-bedroom (with a roommate), a 2-bedroom (with a roommate) and now finally am again in a 1-bedroom (living by myself). Management and maintenance have always been prompt and helpful—maintenance *always* gets to your problems within 24 hours. Management is helpful and explanatory and I've had literally zero issues with them. The apartments are good size, well equipped, and have varied but always very functional layouts. Every apartment I've had here has had ample windows and excellent natural lighting; the water pressure is strong and temperature consistent; I haven't seen a single unwanted critter in five years (i.e., no rats or roaches); basically, all of the intangible things that can make or break and apartment fall on the positive side. It's two blocks from the Metro, it's safe, it doesn't get loud—mostly a late-20s and older tenant demographic The price: Well, it's Washington D.C., and it's Washington D.C. west of the park, at that. But the deposit is low, and all utilities other than cable/internet and electric are covered. I was in the process of moving from my 2-bedroom a few months ago, and while I had a strong desire to move "into" the city more, I quickly realized that the stability and quality of Connecticut Plaza was not something to be easily cast aside. I'm very happy I came to that conclusion.
Look no further
Nestled within the quiet, tree lined streets in Washington, D.C. you'll find Woodly Park and Connecticut Plaza Apartments. Connecticut Plaza Apartments provide the comfort, charm, and high-quality apartment living that is unsurpassed by other rental properties in the area and incomparable to the hustle and bustle of downtown living. Beautifully gardened courtyards adorn the view between the Plaza's buildings and outdoor grilling and patio seating are available to residents and their guests. Atop of the buildings you'll find a relaxing patio space that provide spectacular views of downtown D.C. and the National Cathedral. Before you forget that you're living in D.C., the metro is only a short walk away and all of the plaza apartments are just steps away from the National Zoo! Welcome home.
Perfect positioned between a nice downtown area at Connecticut and Calvert in one direction and the Smithsonian Zoo in the other, living at Connecticut Plaza has had some ups and downs: Pros: Quiet and safe building. I rarely hear (even see my neighbors) Decent size work out room Location, location, location! The bus stop is also literally across the street, the Metro stop is two blocks away. Beautiful, vintage-y decor in lobby; modern design updates to the other doors Packages delivered to apartments HUGE closets Cons: It's HOT. As with most older buildings, there's no A/C units but the A/Cs they have in the apartments are no competition for DC heat. RIP to your Pepco bill. Expensive. Be prepared to pay an arm and a leg. Maybe a kidney. And one tooth. Bugs. They will swear they are no problems with pests/infestations in the building, but the lie detector determined that was a lie. They're not always responsive. Good luck if you leave a voicemail and you're expecting a timely response. All in all, it's definitely decent starter apartment if you're new to the area, but you can definitely find much better optiond for the price.
Excellent location and well kept buildings
I am a current resident for about 3 years now, my experience with the office staff, is that they are extremely friendly and they make sure that the buildings are in good condition and well kept, the services when need it, are very accommodating and fast, because of the permanent house keeping staff in the premisses, in addition, we are walking distance from the metro station of Woodley Park Zoo, which is a huge plus, there is also a fine restaurant right in the premisses and the National Zoo is only steps away if you like to go to visit to the animals or just a walk or transportation of choice to be with nature at RockGreek Park. Highly recommend it.
Connecticut Plaza - I have been here 6 years and love it.!
Large city apartments at a reasonable price. Management is terrific - staff has been here a long time and are friendly and responsive. Great location.
Peace of Mind in a DC Oasis
I moved to the 2915 building of CT Plaza in 2014 after a long hectic search from several states away. After looking at numerous spots in NW DC, CT Plaza quickly emerged as by far the best value for the money. From day 1, the leasing staff was professional and responsive. Once I moved in, the same was true of the building's management and maintenance team, from the sweet woman who keeps this place impeccably clean to the nice man who delivers packages, smiles and wishes I "have a great day" EVERY single afternoon. My apartment is clean, huge and conveniently located to everything, compared to my friends in NE and Dupont areas. Street parking has never been a problem, despite DC's reputation and (speaking as someone who often works from home) residents here are always quiet and considerate. Finally, the tastefully appointed beaux-arts style decor will make you feel like make more money than you actually do. :-) I will likely live here until I buy my own house.
7 Years at Connecticut Plaza
I have lived in this apartment for over seven years. I have never had such a wonderful rental experience. The management staff is absolutely wonderful, and has been in place -- without change -- since I've been here. The maintenance and housekeeping staff are quick to repair in-apartment issues and keep the buildings and grounds in beautiful condition. The buildings, which back up to the National Zoo, are a short walk from two Metro stops, multiple bus lines, a beautiful old movie house, and too many restaurants to name. From the roof decks are views of the Washington Monument and the National Cathedral.
What more could you ask for? Connecticut Plaza apartments was the best decision I made this year! The neighborhood of Woodley Park is incredibly safe, historic, and beautiful. There's tons of restaurants and it is an easy walk to Adams Morgan or Dupont Circle down town areas. I am currently in a 2 bedroom, luxurious, spacious apartment. The wood floors are gorgeous and the bedrooms are massive- two closets in each! The leasing office staff is incredibly professional and friendly. Also it doesn't hurt that Bao Bao the Smithsonian Panda is your neighbor!!
One Look Seals the Deal
In the past 6 months I have had no less than 5 friends/acquaintances move into the set of buildings owned by Connecticut Plaza located at the North Eastern corner of Connecticut Ave and Cathedral Ave, after just a visit to my home. All it took for my friends to fall in love with these apartments was spending some time in the well-looked after complex. I am greeted every morning by the friendly staff, that start their work days before I even begin my commute, who keep the flowering grounds green and happy. The constant upgrades and renovations are a testament to the care the landlords of Connecticut Plaza put into this location. Just this past summer management replaced and updated laundry machines, painted the interior of the buildings, replaced flooring, gutted and updated the front porches to the buildings, and I know there are plans to repaint the garages in the coming weeks. The apartments themselves have been upgraded within the past year or two as well, with hardy laminate wood flooring, brand new kitchens, and eco-friendly toilets. The in-building gym is always well taken care of and clean, if not a little small, but contains all the machines to serve the average gym-goer. The location is just the cherry on the top of this splendid apartment complex. The always safe and park-like Woodley Park is the perfect backdrop to any happy home. With a 5 minute walk to the Metro, restaurants, and the zoo, and a 10 minute walk to either neighborhoods Cleveland Park and Adams Morgan, this location provides you the perfect access to take advantage of all NW D.C. has to officer.
Close to the Woodley Park metro (7 minute walk) but not anything special in terms of the apartments themselves. It is an old building so water pressure in the shower isn't great and some of the appliances are slightly outdated, but they're renovating some units and adding hardwood floors. It has been a perfectly nice place to live and a nice area.
Loving life in Woodley Park!
Connecticut Plaza is the ideal place to live for a well rounded young professional. For commuting purposes it is a short walk from the metro and across the street from multiple bus stops. For entertainment and fun, it is under a 5 minute walk from the fun selection of neighborhood bars and restaurants,15 minutes from the nightlife of Adams Morgan, and just steps from the National Zoo! The neighborhood is a perfect mix of beautiful and calm yet happening and urban. The apartments are clean, spacious, and high-quality and the building staff is responsive and reliable. I could not think of a better place to live in Washington!
Connecticut Plaza Apartments
Great location, great service, great apartment. Amazing all around. This apartment building is located a 6 minute walk to the metro in Woodley Park. Woodley Park is one metro stop away from Dupont Circle and has access to buses that go to the Georgetown area. The apartment also has bus stops literally across the street. It is a 2 minute walk to the zoo. It also has access to great bars and restaurants a short walk away. The apartment is beautiful - great size for the price. And great white windows. The amenities are great - there are grills outside for barbecues, there are communal (clean) laundry machines, exercise room, and free parking behind the building. The service is great. I have lived here for a year and the service staff is both friendly and helpful. They do their absolute best to keep the building updated with the latest amenities. In our year here they have updated the laundry room and all of the toilets. Additionally, any time I submit a request, the request is fulfilled within 24 hours. Requests range from help changing light bulbs to fixing the water pressure. Everything is done in a timely manner and with no ifs or buts. Other pluses include: laundry and package delivery. Cat friendly place.
Connecticut Plaza is Great Value
I am happy to have just renewed my lease at 2901 Connecticut Ave. NW in DC. My year plus here has been great. I share a one bedroom apartment with my fiance. The bedroom is very spacious, the living room is large (we've hosted eight people without any cramping whatsoever), and the kitchen is nice as well. All of the flooring (wood in the living room, carpet in the bedroom) is new, the appliances are new, and everything functions well. When there are issues (like I dropped something into the compacter in the sink, the light bulbs are out, etc), the staff responds immediately. The apartment building is about a six minute walk from the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan metro and maybe a three minute walk from the zoo. Additionally, Rock Creek Park is not a far walk at all. And for cat lovers, the apartment allows cats. In summary: This place is great and an excellent value.
Great Location! Very Clean Bldg!
Connecticut Plaza Apartments is in a great location! Safe neighborhood, short walk to both the Woodley Park metro and the Cleveland Park metro, plenty of conveniences - market, Post Office, theater, library, restaurants, stores, banks, etc. Buildings are VERY clean too! Staff is constantly working, cleaning, and repairing. Leasing office is very attentive too. My dishwasher was leaking and immediately someone was sent to fix it. When it couldn't be fixed a new one was installed ASAP. Also packages are delivered right to your door. Great fitness room and laundry rooms. Outdoor grilling space. Easy street parking and garage parking available, if desired. Reasonable prices compared to other apartments in the area. I highly recommend Connecticut Plaza Apartments!
Great location!! Good amenities
Connecticut Plaza is conveniently located to everything! Right across the street from the metro, multiple bus lines, and blocks away from fast food, original cuisine, shopping, and convenience stores. The rooms have large windows exuding lots of natural light, wide hallways and spacious common space. The exercise room and in-house laundry are a must-have! Great building!
An ode to a great DC apartment
What to say about my apartment in Washington, DC; To win me this prize of living rent-free; First off, I found it on apartments.com; Thank goodness because my place is truly the bomb; The location near the metro is hard to beat; Woodley Park has shops and great places to eat; The apartment backs right up to the zoo; It's been recently renovated too! I like to work out in the building's gym; It's a great place to try and get really slim; I can see July 4th fireworks from the roof deck; When I invite friends over, they never take a rain check; To wrap up, I'd say I love my place; Clean grounds, friendly staff, it's truly an ace!
Great Place for Young Professionals
This is an amazing building for young professionals. It's a 5 minute walk to the metro, with plenty of restaurant options (and a Starbucks!). It overlooks the zoo in the back, which keeps things quiet and makes you feel like you live in the middle of a park (plus on summer nights sometimes you can actually hear the lions). As a young woman I have never once felt unsafe in this neighborhood, even late at night. Management is great about keeping things clean and updated. The shared spaces (lobby, gym, laundry room) and the landscaping are always immaculate, and when I moved in, they redid our floors from carpet to hard wood just because we asked. They do allow you to paint the walls. There's a small rooftop area with a picnic table from which you can see the Washington monument, and there are grills in shady spots in the back. The apartment itself is huge for the price. The kitchen and bathroom are clean and modern. We have ceiling fans and individual air condition/heating units (real ones, not window units) in the living room and both bedrooms, so there's no fighting with your roommate over the temp.
Fantastic location for a great price!!
I have lived here for over a year and it's by far one of the greatest locations in NW DC for a reasonable price. Everyone who works here is friendly and says hello. No pests whatsoever, including spiders! The property is meticulously maintained and always clean. They have dry cleaning services and package delivery, so you don't have to worry about picking anything up- it'll be ready for you when you come home! The location is great, only a 5 minute walk to the metro station, where you can also catch the bus or the Circulator to Adams Morgan/Columbia Heights/ Farragut/DuPont. Lots of great restaurants and bars near the Metro, and one block away from Starbucks, National Zoo, and there's even an Italian restaurant attached to the property as well! It'll be hard to find a great location with affordable studio/1BR apartments! I'll stay here as long I can!
Wonderful Management and Value in a Great Location
I have lived in the Connecticut Plaza Apartment complex for over eight years. The management is fantastic -- always responsive, flexible, and understanding -- and works hard to keep the apartments up-to-date and to keep the buildings and grounds looking nice. It's harder to find a better value in the city, which is why I've made it my home for almost a decade.
Decent entry-level niceness
This is part of the Connecticut Plaza complex, which has several buildings; I'm told the others may be different, so we can only remark on the 2331 building. We have a 1 bedroom. PROS - Great location. 5 minute walk to Woodley Park metro and the collection of shops there. Around the corner from the zoo and an easy shot into town via the Rock Creek Parkway which always seems to stay clear. - Fairly reliable street parking. Rarely need to park more than 1 block away if you have a sticker. There is both garage and reserved outdoor parking available as well for something like $150-200/month. - Air-conditioned, lightly used gym and card-operated laundry in building ($3 per load, wash dry) - Good-looking, well-maintained apartments. Nice laminate floors, tons of closet space, plush carpet in the bedrooms, newly painted walls. Bathrooms seem to have been recently redone. The kitchen is a little long in the tooth but is clean and well-maintained with dishwasher, disposal, and electric stove. Overhead fans and large wall ACs in both rooms. Absolutely no noise from other rooms due to heavy cement walls. There are some older reviews online describing problems with cleanliness, but that doesn't seem to be a problem, at least in this building. - Support staff (maintenance, front desk, etc) are nice and helpful. - Trash chutes for easy disposal, good elevators, a small roof space with lounge chairs, outdoor grills. Free package service directly into your unit. CONS - Although walls are impenetrable to sound, a fair amount of sound can be heard through the outer doors from/into the halls. - There is an odd smell in the building after moving. You stop noticing after a couple breaths and it does seem to be fading. - The management staff are massively stupid and best avoided. - Parking and general foot traffic in the area can get heavy on weekends due to zoo visitors. - Comcast is the service here and it can be spotty. - Limited counter space in the kitchens; we ended up purchasing a couple small wooden islands to extend it, which ended up being perfect. In general the kitchen is serviceable, but a bit small and could use a revamp.
Great building and responsive maintenance
I just moved in a couple weeks ago, but so far have been very pleased. Maintenance has been very responsive and the building/common area is clean and well maintained. Proximity to the metro is great. The fitness room is pretty decent for an apartment building; personally, it meets my needs but if you wanted more serious weight equipment you'd likely want to join a larger gym.

Located in the northwest quadrant of Washington, D.C., Cleveland Park has become known for its late 19th century Victorian-frame abodes and being home to one of the very first strip malls in the nation.
Surrounded by greenery on the east side, Cleveland Park draws in visitors with the National Zoo, Piney Creek Park and a small portion of Rock Creek Park bordering this neighborhood. Outside of the larger attractions, the homegrown businesses and cozy drinking lounges give this neighborhood a small-town feel, despite being right outside of the big city.
