Rated 2 out of 5?by Larry Apartments used to be first rate, but not anymore. Glad we moved. Complex going down hill. Heating/AC very inefficient, and insulation very poor. Therefore electric bills in summer are high and gas bills in winter are high. No overhead fans. Appliances are old. Stove is not self cleaning and over temp is unreliable. Plumbing old and leaky. Hot water heaters are old and leak, many had to be replaced. Exercise room is below average for a complex this size. Cheap tread mill. Poor drainage and run off. A thunderstorm result in drainage over flow into the swimming pool The pool had to be closed for over a month at the beginning of the summer for repairs and cleaning. It could happen again. Some of the new tenants are noisy and inconsiderate. Curbside garbage pickup is Mon and Thurs, plus there are two large dumpsters on site for people who don't want to wait for curbside pickup., However some people are two lazy to walk the few feet to the dumpsters and they put out their trash 2-3 days before pickup. Crows, other birds and animals tear open the trash bags and sometimes garbage is all over the place. End result is ants, bugs, mice, etc. and a complex that sometimes looks like a landfill. On site management is friendly but the shots are called by an off site management company, i.e. Signature Management, and like most management companies they are in it to maximize profit. Rated 5 out of 5?by 72mea Amazing Property! I've lived at MOPOW for a year now and I haven't had any problems that were not taken care of. Things wear out and need replacement or storms cause problems that need a little more work than others but that happens anywhere you live. The difference is the maintenance guys always get to it within a timely manner. Not only do they do it in a timely manner, they do it will a smile on their faces. They love their jobs and are happy to fix anything, even change out a light bulb. The girls in the office are also wonderful. You can call and yell at them all you want and they will still be nicer to you than any other complex around Williamsburg. Residents constantly go in there throughout the day just to see how the girls are doing and what they are up too. The staff at MOPOW makes this place much better than any of the newer apartments around town. Each and every one of the staff goes out of their way to help the residents get full satisfaction. MOPOW's apartments are great, yes some of the stuff is outdated but they work and MOPOW slowly updates things as needed. They are well sized apartments that are beautiful inside as well as the outside. The amount of money you pay for rent gets you a beautiful apartment, gorgeous landscape, a wonderful pool, lake view, the best staff around, and the best location. It?s also one of the safest places. I grew up where we didn't lock the doors during the day and could play outside all day as kids on 55 acres of our land. I feel that safety here when at first the thought of moving to an apartment I didn't feel safe. MOPOW also has a courtesy officer which makes it even more comfortable to live here. Monticello at Powhatan is located behind the Monticello shopping center and next to Powhatan Secondary. You can walk to Target, Martin's, and many more. You are a few minutes? drive from all the new shopping centers. Wal-Mart Market is being built right down the road so you will never have to go to the other side of town. Even with all of this in close proximity there isn't much noise. Maybe one day MOPOW will upgrade with a dog park or have more things for residents to do inside the clubhouse. However, there are walking trails through Powhatan Secondary and Kidsburg across is a huge playground with basketball courts, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, and a paved walking track around. Monticello gets to know their residents and have fun hanging out with them by having monthly parties for residents with food, games, and great prizes! Overall, I would recommend Monticello at Powhatan to everyone I know and even people I don't know. Monticello at Powhatan has everything you need. Don't waste your time reading what bad reviews have to say because what they expect is free money. If you move here you won?t regret it. July 3, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5?by jd Don't Waste Your Money I have been living here at MOPOW in Williamsburg,VA because I thought it would be a nice place. NICE , thats a Understatement !! I have file over 6 complaints about MOLD growing in my apartment, when it rains water comes in and makes a mess. ALL the Management at the Office in Williamsburg do , is Nothing !!! They have tried to cover up the water spots and mold by painting. Don't fix the Problem !! DONT live here , the rent is too high for this trash to live inn. June 11, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5?by Theo68 Great location in a quiet neighborhood I lived here for about 18 months. The location is great. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. New Town is just a 2 minute drive away. And you can get to W&M in about 5 minutes. My unit had an attached garage which was really handy. The office staff is very nice and the maintenance staff is too. These apartments aren't cheap, but compared to what else is available in the area, they are worth it. May 25, 2013
