Racing is truly one of Henrico County’s largest events. It is located at the Richmond International Raceway, which is about a quarter mile from Richmond City. Patrons enjoy the three-quarter mile D-shaped hard surface track because of the visibility it gives them. Racing hosts include the Nascar Nationwide Series and the Nascar Sprint Cup. Cheered by many race fans from all over the country, a full crowd is always welcome. There is parking, restrooms, souvenir and food courts. Any age will enjoy the zooming noises of the cars and the great atmosphere.
If cycling is an interest than the 2015 UCI (Union Cyclist Internationale) Championship will surely be a sporting event that should not be missed. The starting point is in the eastern portion of Henrico County. It will end in Richmond City. At least 1,000 men and women world cyclists will travel various miles in these races.
