Rated 1 out of 5?by sfranger36 No parking, shady management I'll start with the short list of pros: -The apartments are new, we were the first tenants in our apartment. They look nice, appliances are great, etc. -The location is very convenient. I-15 and trax stations are right there. -They have 2 guys that patrol the complex and the and the one next to it. -Our apartment has been free of defects, minus the TV wiring. I know many others have minor to severe problems in their brand new apartment though. Now for the cons: -When we moved in we were promised Utopia fiber optic internet. Turns out, the buildings weren't built with internet connections. They gave us a sprint wifi card for internet and charged us $35 a month for it in place of the high speed internet we expected. They said internet would be installed in 2-3 weeks. Then another 2-3 weeks. Then mid February. Then sometime over the summer, then 2-3 weeks again. 11 months later they finally have "high" speed internet installed. We pay an additional $20 just to get our speed up to 10 down on a good day. Oh and we had to go inquire at the office, they didn't notify us the wall socket they installed 2 months earlier was finally active. -Our TV is constantly going out. -There is no parking. We have a 3 bedroom apartment, with 3 occupants. We have no assigned parking space, and there are maybe 20 parallel parking spaces on the street. The sister community, lionsgate, has assigned their parallel parking, so when they can't find a space (because it's all assigned) they park their extra cars in the brickgate parking. If I get home later than 6 pm, I have to drive around for 20 minutes hoping to find a space. Never mind having guests over. Oh and they are opening 3 more buildings soon, not sure where they will park. I guess there might be another 20 spots when all the construction equipment is gone for the 72 new apartments. -There is no exit clause in the lease. You're stuck for the entire term unless they violate the agreement. -We haven't had a mailbox for our entire year long lease. Mail is picked up from the office, if you can catch them there. -We received an eviction notice plastered on our door for failing to pay rent on time. We paid rent on time every month. The office wouldn't admit they made a mistake and resulted in yelling with my roommates when they went to inquire about it. -The office staff don't seem to know whats going on. I've seen probably 8 different people through our lease. I don't know why they keep going through people. If I had to guess it's because the management company, Millwood Management, has them doing things they aren't comfortable with combined with tenants constantly complaining about things that shouldn't be an issue in brand new apartments. I certainly have been upset with never having a consistent face to deal with. The latest girl asked me if my name was even on the lease, and told me it probably isn't (it is) and that I have no right to complain or try to negotiate anything with her. I kind of feel bad for her, because I know she's constantly dealing with upset people. But at the same time, telling me I have to pay for an extra month of rent because they lost my notice of intent to vacate is ridiculous. I've been waiting to move out since a month into our lease, and things only got worse from there. Do yourself a favor and pass this place up. You'll pay way too much to deal with all their problems.
