I was a college senior at the time I was looking for apartments in Greenville. I was looking for a good place to live that was cheap. Sterling Pelham at first glance is super cheap and in a relatively good location. (close to 385, downtown, etc). I moved in in July of 2012. Towards the middle of August, my apartment flooded-- due to a faulty rain gutter. Most of my wood furniture was ruined about 1" up where the water was sitting for most of the day. The Apartment manager (Debbie) came in and inspected it-- SAW the damage, but denied me any reimbursement for any of my furniture, and was going to make me stay in that apt. But, I have worked in the mold business and knew that it wouldn't have been much time until you-know-what would start growing. That was unit G5 in case if anyone is there now (which I noticed someone moved in shortly thereafter). After I made them move me to a different unit, there were a few maintenance problems- Pipe in bathroom exploded, a few shower issues, cockroaches, etc. After notifying the maint. staff, I didn't receive a notice or anything for a good 2 weeks before I called again, and then they finally came and fixed the problems. Then in December, I got a 30 day notice to move out. For a "bug problem"-- which come to find out from other neighbors, that it had been an issue way before moving in. So they placed me in a unit that they knowingly had problems with this bug issue. (cockroaches). After expressing my frustration with the admin, I never received any compensation for moving expenses, time spend away from work dealing with all of their mistakes and disorganization, or compensation for any of my furniture that was ruined previously. Instead, I got a bill in the mail saying that I owed them for things that were "damaged"-- (everything on the list was written down in the pre-walkthrough before i moved in) showing their disorganization.
I have talked and warned so many people about this place, put their names on blacklists for local colleges and all throughout the Greenville system, and all over FaceBook. Hopefully this review will steer a few more people away.
I am NOT affiliated with any other complex- I am a real- dissatisfied customer that is writing a review about my ACTUAL experience here at Sterling Pelham.
Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5?by Heidi42 Great location
In my search to find a place to live, I stubbled onto Sterling Pelham. I thought they would be above my budget due to the location. But to my surprise they actually fit my budget better than other communities around. I am glad that I have a comfortable, safe place to live. The staff and maintenance have been great so far and I am looking forward to the future interaction.
