But a few things irked me: Bolton's Landing touts itself as a "green" community, but they don't even participate in recycling! I stockpiled my newspapers and plastics and drove them to the nearby landfill myself. Also, there seems to be a general sense of apathy when it comes to repairing community amenities, like the washers, dryers and treadmills. It is ridiculous to have only two out of six washers working. I ought to deduct the amount of money I lost on the broken washers from my rent check! April 9, 2014

Office stated if someone else moved in I would not have to pay for the next mo. New tennant did move in and the office then stated I had to pay for that month too, because of lease. Wanted me and new tenant to pay for a month. Kept $450.00 the stated I'd be refunded and billed me $450.00. April 2, 2014

My likes and dislikes about this community are: 20 mins from nearly everywhere in town. 30 mins from the beach (Kiowa) and 45 from Isle of Palms depending on who is driving. Pet park, pool, and a good place to run or workout. Enjoy the ponds and the wildlife--a perfect combination of woods and palm trees so you know that you are in SC! January 29, 2014

Paint, counters, and appliances were like new. I did not like the effectiveness of the staff. Often, the staff was more concerned with saving the company money than making sure residents were comfortable. January 7, 2014

My likes and dislikes about this community are: The tile in the kitchen was laid incorrectly and we had yard plus long cracks throughout the kitchen after a few months. My boyfriend at the time lived in the same building and they had the same problem with the tile in their kitchen. The cabinets are made of the cheapest possible material and multiple hinges fell off throughout our 2 year stay and the plastic coating on the cabinets began to peal off. Upon move out, the complex charged us for replacing the carpet, annoying, but not that unheard of. However, they sent the claim to collections because they claimed they could never reach us. There were three people on the lease and none of us received a phone call, letter or any form of correspondence until a collection agency called each of us. And oddly enough, I am completing this review because I received an e-mail from the complex asking me to review the property. Weird that they had at the very least my new address, phone number that hasn't changed in 15 years and my e-mail address yet they were unable to reach me regarding our move-out bill. The so-called laundry room constantly had machines out of order. Dryers wouldn't dry, washing machines would not drain and they would leak water all over the floor creating disgusting and unsafe conditions. The community seems like it is nice, but that is only a front to get you into a lease. Parking is also an issue. If you get home from work after seven on a week night, forget about being able to park near your building. I would never live hear again or rent another apartment from the parent company.
