Dick Burke – Senior Vice President and General Manager, Apartments.com
As Senior Vice President and General Manager of Apartments.com, Dick Burke manages all of the business operations for the organization
including the sales, marketing and finance sectors as well as the product development, production, customer service and technology
departments.
Preceding his appointment as General Manager, Burke served as Senior Vice President of Administration and Corporate Development for
Classified Ventures, LLC, which owns Apartments.com, Cars.com and HomeGain.com. Under this position, Burke oversaw the company’s
Corporate Services division, comprising corporate technology, legal, human resources, communications, recruiting and facilities as
well as HomeGain.com, the company’s online real estate business. In addition, Burke led the company’s corporate development initiatives,
playing an integral part in successful acquisitions such as Apartment Home Living.
Burke signed the papers that formed Classified Ventures, LLC in 1997 and represented the company the same year in its acquisition of
Visual Properties, the predecessor of Apartments.com. Burke joined the organization on a full-time basis in October 1998 as Chief Legal
Officer. Prior to joining Classified Ventures, LLC, Burke practiced law at Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella, P.C. and preceding that
at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
Burke received a Bachelor of Arts degree from College of the Holy Cross in 1986, and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center
in 1990. He is married with two children.
Brad Long – Vice President of Sales
As vice president of sales, Brad is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with national property-management
companies, training and directing the Apartments.com internal sales force and developing strategic partnerships with organizations and
associations that will benefit the multi-family industry, property managers and visitors to Apartments.com.
Prior to Apartments.com, Brad worked for 19 years within the newspaper industry, most recently as the vice-president/director of
advertising at the Tribune in San Luis Obispo, California. At the Tribune, Brad served on the SLO County
YMCA Board, Finance Committee and South County Advisory Board.
A Chicago-area native, Brad earned a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University and is currently working on completing his master’s degree in finance from Benedictine University.
Tim Clutter – Director of Finance
As director of finance at Apartments.com, Tim oversees all accounting and financial operations, including fiscal reporting, budgeting, forecasting and strategic initiatives.
Tim's commitment to Classified Ventures and drive to succeed are evidenced by his strong work ethic and impressive background. Most notably, he previously served as the finance manager at HomeGain.com where he was solely responsible for the financial and accounting functions of the business. Joining Classified Ventures in 2007, Tim has also held a variety of positions in the corporate finance group. Prior to working for Classified Ventures, Tim was the contract administrator at a leading construction company in Antioch, IL, Thelen Sand & Gravel. There he managed both accounts receivable and project accounting for the Excavation division.
Currently, Tim holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Political Science and Public Administration from Augustana College and resides in Chicago, IL.
Chris Brown – Vice President of Product Development
As vice president of product development, Chris is responsible for managing the strategic direction and execution of the Apartments.com product team. In addition to developing applications to support apartment properties and management companies, the team manages products for display advertisers and private landlords, as well as maintains the Apartments.com, RentalHomesPlus.com, MovingCenter.com, Landlord Resources and Apartment Living Web sites.
Chris is a four-year veteran of Classified Ventures and prior to joining the Apartments.com team, he served as a group product manager at Cars.com. Chris developed significant revenue enhancing products within the Cars.com division and brings his acumen for innovation to Apartments.com. Since joining the Apartments.com team in July 2007, Chris has begun building additional product offerings which will serve to drive revenue and value for Apartments.com and its customers.
Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Kayne Grau – Chief Technology Officer
As Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Kayne oversees the online business at Apartments.com and is primarily responsible for aligning the information technology strategy to business objectives. This includes project management, application development, quality assurance, technical operations, vendor relationships and offshore teams. In addition to his role at Apartments.com, Kayne also oversees our Austin-based Apartment Home Living and Auto.com businesses.
Kayne is focused on innovating technical solutions to transform the rental-property search process and set the website apart from competitors, now and in the future. As a member of the senior leadership team, Kayne manages how business challenges are solved and in response to ever-evolving technology.
Prior to Apartments.com, Kayne was CTO for our sister company, Cars.com. He orchestrated an organizational evolution to meet growing needs by implementing the agile process, fundamentally changing the way in which the business has been building its advertiser and consumer products.
Earlier in his career, Kayne worked in a senior management capacity with Allstate Insurance, World Access Corporation, DIRECTV, and eToys.com. He has over 15 years’ experience of management, team development and start-up experience. He is frequently seen throughout Chicago speaking at various forums and after-hour meet-up events. When not at Apartments.com, he spends his time working with non-profit companies and serving in advisory roles for multiple local start-up companies.
Kayne received his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from National Louis University.
Susan Bryant – Vice President of Marketing
As Vice President of Marketing at Apartments.com, Susan is responsible for managing the strategic direction of all Apartments.com marketing and brand initiatives. To drive brand awareness and Apartments.com marketing efforts, Susan oversees company positioning and messaging, advertising campaigns, public relations programs, promotions, sales materials, event and trade marketing, as well as sponsorships. Susan also directs all lead generation for trade and consumer efforts through a variety of channels such as partnerships, digital and social media marketing as well as a variety of local events.
Susan brought with her a rich background of marketing, product management and sales management experience in a variety of industries and companies (small and large, public and private and startups.) Immediately prior to joining Apartments.com, Susan led the marketing teams at Total Attorneys, a cloud-based, technology-enabled services company headquartered in Chicago.
Susan earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Purdue University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
She and her husband reside in Libertyville, IL where she is active in a number of non-profit organizations.
Ben Roewe – Director of Operations
As Director of Operations, Ben Roewe oversees the teams charged with producing online advertisements for property management companies, providing excellent customer service and account management and supporting the Apartments.com sales organization.
Previously, Ben worked at Apartments.com as the sales operations management in 2007 and before that as the finance manager in 2005. During his time at the company, Ben supported the renewal planning process, delivered Salesforce.com enhancements for contracts, renewals and reporting, developed the annual financial budget and built sales commission plans. He is also a Certified Salesforce.com Administrator and recipient of a Classified Ventures Personal Achievement Award.
Prior to Apartments.com, Ben worked for Cardinal Health’s medical products segment where he completed the Financial Development Program. In more than six years of service, he held financial and accounting assignments in the surgical instrument sourcing business, mergers and acquisitions, international manufacturing in Malaysia and Thailand and corporate reporting. He received a Chairman’s Award in 2004 and a Financial Leadership Award in 2001.
Ben attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa where he completed dual degrees, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies and Film Production.
