Apartments.com Magazine joins Web site as Chicagoland's most complete apartment resource.

CHICAGO, 6/27/03 - When searching for an apartment becomes an overwhelming experience, Chicagoland residents can turn to Apartments.com - now in print and online - to make it easier. Apartments.com Magazine launched June 1, 2003, as the Chicagoland print companion to the nationally recognized Apartments.com Web site.

Published by Chicagoland Publishing Company, a subsidiary of Chicago Tribune Company, the free, monthly Apartments.com Magazine replaces the RELCON Apartment Guide. Each month 65,000-70,000 copies are distributed throughout Chicagoland.

The magazine also includes a new exclusive feature - Web IDs. These nine-digit numbers will be included in the print ads for every property also listed online at Apartments.com, allowing readers to bypass a traditional online search and go directly to more information about a specific property.

"This is a great example of strongly linking print and online," said Lynee Alves, publisher of Apartments.com Magazine. "Our clients will get even more value out of their advertising investment and renters will benefit from this partnership by gaining speedier access to more detailed information."

"The renaming of a 30-year-old, market-leading rental print publication to Apartments.com Magazine is a fantastic endorsement of the benefits of combining offline and online media," said Tim Fagan, senior vice president and general manager of the Apartments.com Web site operation. "The powerhouse of forces behind the Apartments.com effort in the Chicago market will undoubtedly expand an already superior franchise."

Chicago Tribune Company publishes the Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper with daily readership of more than 2,000,000 and nearly 3,000,000 on Sunday.
