APARTMENTS.COM APPOINTS INDUSTRY VETERAN KAYNE GRAU AS VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
CHICAGO (November 27, 2012)—Apartments.com recently appointed Kayne Grau as vice president and chief technology officer. Grau, formerly the chief technology officer for Cars.com, will oversee the online business at Apartments.com, with primary responsibility for aligning the information technology strategy to business objectives across project management, application development, quality assurance, technical operations, vendor relationships and offshore teams. In addition to his role at Apartments.com, Grau will also oversee the organization’s sister businesses, ApartmentHomeLiving.com and Auto.com.

Prior to Apartments.com, Grau was chief technology officer for Cars.com, a sister business under the Classified Ventures organization. Earlier in his career, Grau worked in a senior management capacity with Allstate Insurance, World Access Corporation, DIRECTV, and eToys.com. He has over 15 years’ experience managing high-performance teams, developing and operating high-performance websites. A recognized and respected thought-leader, Grau is a frequent speaker at industry events and serves in advisory roles for multiple local start-up companies in addition to volunteering his time and expertise with non-profit organizations.
Grau received his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from National Louis University.
