Rated 4 out of 5?by hboy73 Quite good for Allentown
This is a nice place to live as far as Allentown apartments go. It's not the newest, but it is well maintained and definitely reminds me of a New York high rise. I'll miss the unique features like door man service and trash rooms on every floor.
It is in Allentown, but at least it isn't in the center of the city. It is a good compromise between fair rents and a safe area.
The office and maintenance staff are acceptable, but I haven't dealt with them much. The few maintenance requests I had were usually handled in a day or two. However, the door people are very nice to have around, and they help a lot with groceries and mail among other things. The building manager lives in the building and was available late at night for an emergency leak situation that I dealt with a while ago, which is another plus with this kind of building, since it didn't take him long to respond.
Noise can be an issue as you can hear neighbors playing music or loud TV. Unfortunately, I find that this is normal in all of these kinds of buildings. It is really the luck of the draw as far as how considerate your neighbors are.
Also, as far as roaches go, I have not seen anything in my apartment or on my floor, but again I think it has a lot to do with the people around you. If you're around dirty people, you will end up getting their "visitors". When I moved in, they did offer me weekly exterminations at my request, but I never needed to use them.
For complaints about the building, I would have to say the windows need to be worked on, as they are very drafty. This makes it colder in the winter and hotter in the summer and you pay electric for the A/C. And mentioning the A/C, the units are very old and do need to be replaced. The rest of the appliances are somewhat new, probably less than 10 years old, and well kept, so they should really keep up with the A/Cs too, they just don't fit with the rest of the apartment.
Overall, I would recommend the Regency. The value is very good considering it's not center city Allentown. It was sad that I had to move out, but due to finances I could not stay here anymore, they do raise the rent every year when you get a new lease to sign.

Rated 1 out of 5?by GEORGIAP NO WAY!!
IT IS A SHAME THIS PLACE HAS NEVER EVER BEEN UPDATED OR REFURBISHED. HALLWAYS UNKEMPT; NOT CLEAN AND WALLPAPER HANGING OFF THE WALLS. THERE SURELY ARE ROACHES THERE, AS REPORTED BY PAST TENANTS. NO CENTRAL AIR, ONLY WINDOW UNITS. THEY SHOULD PAY TENANTS TO STAY THERE.

Rated 1 out of 5?by ivysnow Inside the Apartment needs to be upgraded.
Building is functional. However, apartments need to be upgraded. Kitchen cabinet and appliances are in need of upgrades, bathrooms need upgrades and windows as well. I was impressed with security, acting as doorman. Lobby of building clean. As mention earlier building name (Regency Towers) and asking price of rent should reflect the apartment...
