Rated 1 out of 5?by misha The cheapest in Newark! --for a reason. I am not exaggerating when I say all of the fields above deserved a 1-out-of-5 star review. Twenty-first street clearly isn't the most well-to-do part of Newark to live in, but when I moved into Kingswood Court, I truly wasn't prepared for the 12 month nightmare that would follow. The banner hanging across the town homes out front read "new carpet and paint" -- and I'll give them that, it was new. Thrown right over the old. Layers of thick, uneven white paint covered everything in the apartment, from the stove's range top to the windows in my living room. I peeled the stuff off for weeks just so I could cook without bits of the stuff falling into my food. The noise was awful from day one, but living in a lower-end apartment complex, I brushed it off, and called the police when I had to. This was more or less fine by me, until the break ins began to occur. My car was broken into repeatedly, but my apartment was spared, thank goodness. Many of my neighbors weren't so lucky. Complaints to the office staff and management about issues that need repaired go unresolved. The chap who works the desk brushed me off several times, saying he'd send someone over to fix this and that. It never happened, over the period of a year, and I'm sure there's black mold still growing in my old unit. Oh, but there is a pool, and it is more or less taken care of, but fellow residents will see that you can't enjoy it by having it shut down on a regular basis. November 17, 2012
