Rated 1 out of 5?by no_claremont13 The worst upkeep of any Apartment Complex
There are no words to fully describe how miserable this facility is. The lawn is LITTERED with dog feces, the elevator is "down for repair' every other month, the garage doors just broke and needed to be fixed, there is mold growing underneath our sink and in the window sills, the walls are thin, the A/C only cools one room, and they charge you to participate in the PooPrints program, which aims to make people pick up after their dog, which costs you $35, yet they don't pick up the feces. Please, don't make the same mistake I did, and stay across the street at Greenfield.

Rated 1 out of 5?by Very Upset in Minnetonka Don't even think about this place!
They run enticing rental specials to get you in but make sure you REALLY check it out before signing the lease. It's iron-clad!! The maintenance staff is slow and rarely improves anything, even though they'll say they completed the task requested. The walls are super thin so you hear everything your neighbors are doing and what's going on in the hall. The storage is NON-EXISTENT; There are only 2 drawers in the kitchen and they are just big enough for your pot-holders. A standard utensil tray won't fit in it. I had to go to Menard's and buy 2 under counter drawer units for added storage after seeing my neighbor just has his utensils on a small table under the breakfast bar, and when you move in, it's highly doubtful the apt will be even cleaned (I moved in and there were stains on the carpet, paint splatters on the linoleum, black stuff on the doors and door jams, and HAIR and sticky stuff on all the window sills!). Make sure you ask to see the apt you will be living in before you sign the lease. The model is always clean since no one lives in it.
I checked out the 'features' they claim on here and there are some errors. 1) It's not central air - you have a wall unit. 2) They claim it's luxury - only if they are referring to when it was built in the 1980's is that a true statement. 3) No french doors 4) No extra closets (you have a small bi-fold door one for coats as you walk in and then one in the bedroom. The 2 bedrooms appear to have a bedroom walk in but that's not the case for the 1 bedroom floor plans)
Just don't bother - there has to be nicer places than this near by if you're looking to live in this neighborhood.

Rated 1 out of 5?by Unsatisfied renter Unprofessional and Lazy
First off, the overall apartment is ok. It's blow your mind amazing, it's just ok.
HOWEVER, my baseboard radiator blew up 3 times within 11 months and twice within 21 days. Then I'm doing month to month and rent went up over 25% and they charge you an extra fee for living month to month.
Let's get to the unprofessional and lazy part. When my radiator blew up the 1st time, the office was extremely lazy in offering advice on what to do and how to fix it. Then on a Sunday, it took the maintenance man over 4 hours to get to my place to fix the issue. I missed a day of work, the office never called me to update me on what's happening, and when I called to speak to them, I was told that Monday morning paperwork was more important than what happened. My bedroom was soaked and had to file a claim. The 2nd time it happened, was at midnight and they turned off my heat in JANUARY for the evening, said they would be over at 8am and didn't come until 2pm! Third time happened at 530 in the morning. This time I caught the office worker lying to me, when she didn't have. She lied to me twice, 1 time about service crew leaving my place when I was home most of the day (I paid rent and at 3pm, she told me they just left my place when I was home since noon again, no reason to lie about that) then about getting outside help for the radiator.
I called the corporate office to complain about what happened and they showed the same amount of laziness and being unprofessional. I felt since this happened 3 times, having to pay in on my deductible, missing out on 2 days of work, moving my bedroom furniture a total of 6 times, I deserved some compensation. Don't expect to get anything if this happens to you. I asked for my deductible or a free months worth of rent. This was a 3 week process and they offered me $75 when rent at the time was almost $900.
When you come here, they claim they will work with you on everything, but this is not true. They tell you what you want to hear.
I would not recommend this place because of the lack of professionalism and them being so lazy and not caring.

Rated 1 out of 5?by Reviewer Give and take (But mostly a lot of take)
I'll use the rating-categories to structure this review, but let me preface with a general statement: There's a lot of Bad about both this property and management company as a whole. I could rattle off numerous terrible experiences with them, and yet...I never WANTED to move out of the Claremont. There were things I liked about it. But I wanted them to get their act together and make it a nicer place to come home to, and they seem to have a really hard time doing that.
Location/Neighborhood: Don't let the Minnetonka address fool you! It sits smack-dab on the Hopkins border--the BAD part of Hopkins. I've had cops personally tell me it's not a good area.
Maintenance Service: The maintenance guys themselves are nice enough. But the property is ALWAYS torn up, messy, dirty, under-going construction that lasts for months and months. I was embarrassed to invite guests over. When calling for maintenance attention in my own unit, they were always very responsive but didn't always fix the issue. I also had them accidentally break personal property in my unit but not say anything about it.
Overall Value: This is part of what made me want to stay. There are small things included in the rent that I took for granted before I started looking for somewhere else to move. Heated garage is included, as is heat in general (though management decides when this gets turned on/off year-round), a VERY nice workout facility, and in-unit washer/dryer.
Quality of Amenities: The pool is a disaster. It's crumbling to pieces and the pieces float around in the pool all summer long. As mentioned, there are in-unit washer/dryers that are very nice. The gym is fairly new and is in an open room with floor-to-ceiling windows all around (as opposed to most that are in a closed-off room with zero windows). Not an amenity, but needs to be mentioned: only 3rd floor units have balconies.
Office Staff: There are two staffs you might deal with--the actual Claremont property staff, and the Richdale management staff. Anyone I've ever encountered at Claremont has been wonderful. It's the management folks that are persnickety. I've had a couple of rude encounters with them.
Noise: I can only speak for my building and my wing of the building, but I RARELY hear anything from the people around me. Before I saw them in the hallway, I had started to doubt that I even had neighbors! I loved how quiet it was.
In the end, my problem was that they were raising rent to 'remain competitive', but as a resident I didn't see our high rent reflected in any changes around the property and the building itself. Make sure you're shown the actual building you'd be moving into, and not their 'best' one.
