Find Apartments for Rent in Royal Oak, MI
Located in Oakland County, Royal Oak is one of the more vibrant suburbs of Detroit. It's downtown area is packed with restaurants, bars and entertainment venues, attracting a lot of young professionals and college students, and its surrounding residential area consists of retirees, young professionals and young families. That's part of what makes the city such an attractive one for residents, as it's a mix of fun and entertainment and residential living. Most of the apartments for rental within the city limits, however, are located close to the vibrant and busy downtown area, with the more expensive ones consisting of lofts and complexes right smack dab along Main Street. It's important to note that other apartment units are located throughout the rest of the city for more affordable rent rates, but lack the proximity to downtown that many have come to enjoy.
Downtown Royal Oak is best characterized as a college town, but without a campus, due to its party atmosphere and crowded streets, especially on weekend nights. But it's also a safe city that is centrally located within manageable distance to most of the other Detroit suburbs, as well as Detroit city itself. It's what makes it such an attractive place for young professionals and other residents.
