Rated 1 out of 5?by Negative Experience I had a horrible experience with this organization. Karen Philips, the property manager, and then unfortunately her supervisor, Minerva McParland, don't live up their agreements. After I approached Karen asking about the cost to break my lease, she assured me that it wouldn't be a problem as long as I gave her 30 days. I gave her more than 30 days notice, but then contrary to her promise she immediately began going back on on her own advice. Ultimately, she failed to rent my apartment anew. So I did the right thing anyway. I left the apartment in fine shape, and I lived up to my end of the bargain. Unlike these people, I sent them the next monthly rent payments without making them chase me down for what was it. Then I learned independently that they had rented the place halfway through one of the months that I had already paid for so I expected to be reimbursed.. I emailed several times without any response, and called and finally I broke through and had Karen assure me that she had submitted a check request for me to be reimbursed but no check ever came. After so much failure to get reimbursed, I bumped it up to her supervisor. At last the supervisor finally responded, but then she shamefully didn't honor her own manager. She brought in all kinds of other charges that her manager had never even considered so that she could ultimately tell me that I would owe them despite what her manager had assured me. That was insult to injury. it didn't honor the spirit of my conversations with the manager. It didn't honor what she assured me. It didn't respond acknowledge that i was a good renter always paying my rent on time, and then even paying them after I had left. So much for trying to do the right thing with people like this. In the end, they're shysters. Although the property is nice and the maintenance manager is a good dood, I can't recommend that anyone do business with unethical and unprofessional people like this! If I ran my business like these people do, or if I treated my own tenant like these people treat their tenants, my clients or my own tenant would fire me; but I guess it's easy to prey upon renters hiding behind small fine print details instead of living up to your commitment or even just doing the obvious right thing. Their shameful lack of professionalism makes it so that I never want to rent from a large organization again. May 19, 2014
