Rated 1 out of 5?by Fifteenth Floor Absolutely Terrible I cannot believe how terrible the management of Lafayette Towers are. After numorous attempts at moving in...which by the way you cannot, unless you schedule a time three weeks in advance in a book which they frequently lose. I understand that scheduling is a great thing for move ins...but when my family drives 3 hours to help me put in a bed and two couches, and are not even let in the gate??? I cannot understand that. After being told first to leave and come back when a scheduled time can be arranged, and a half hour of argueing, I was allowed my slotted time in the elevator although since they lost the record of my time slot, I would be assessed any damages to the elevator...I was moved in. This was October of 2011. After a year of frequent cold baths due to water heater malfunctions, yellow brown tar coming down from my bathroom ceiling (I believe the prior tenant smoked), and cracks appearing randomly in the walls due to moisture, I moved out after my 13 month lease (which is also strange). I paid a late fee for 50 dollars in July of 2012 when they lost the check I gave them, 5 days prior to the 1st, as my custom... I am now locked in a battle after my lease is up to pay another late fee for the month of November. This occured after I paid, sent in my keys, and was assured by staff that my lease is indeed complete. I found this notice the 26th of December, the day after Christmas. I did not want to write this, as I normally do not like to complain. This was my first apartment and I loved the view, but the monetary malfunctioning and poor maintenance really disgust me. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Happy Holidays. December 27, 2012
