Rated 5 out of 5?by LOVE The Waterfront at Pu'uloa! Moved to Oahu 2 years ago, moved to The Waterfront at Pu'uloa a little more than a month ago and wish I had moved here when first coming to the island. I absolutely LOVE it. I live in one of the renovated houses, everyone who comes in compliments it and says they should move there too. My street is super quiet for the most part. the houses are not sound proof by any means so you occassionally here people if you have nothing on in your house (tv, music, etc). Nothing that can't be drowned out by closing my windows and turning on my a/c. If someone is overly rambunctious late at night a quick call to the front gate fixes it. The beach is at the end of my street and it's gorgeous, never crowded. We are right under the flight path to the airport, some people find it obnoxious but it honestly doesn't bother me at all. My husband and I work on/near the base. It takes us about 40-45 minutes each way. I used to drive Kam Hwy everyday to Pearl City and it usually took over an hour so my commute to Ewa isn't so bad. We've heard rumors they're starting up the grey boat again, nothing concrete, just rumors but if/when they do, our commute will be 15 minutes tops. Definitely way more PROs than CONs for me here. Only complaint I have is the houses are old and single wall construction which is why they're not very sound proof. Also they have jalousy windows which are not very energy efficient with an air conditioner. Overall, this place beats our Navy housing in Pearl City hands down. It may even be the best location I've lived in with it's proximity to the beach. the only thing that could make it better is if my toes hit the sand when I walked out my door. Need to get a raise at work so I can make that happen :) March 31, 2014

As a resident for just over a year at the Waterfront at Pu'uloa we have enjoyed the all of the amenities that the Waterfront has to offer, the fitness center, beautiful beaches and nicely landscaped yards. I must say tho, my best experience has been with the Maintenance department, they are always on point and very kind to us. Ewalani is my favorite, always positive and very helpful! Since we moved from the town homes into a single family dwelling, our stay has been even better! Brandi Barr, the Resident Relations Manager, has been extremely helpful and accommodating. So far, our only down fall to the single family homes, is that we couldn't get Directv due to the location of the satellite dish, in which would be an eye soar as far as curb appeal goes. Other than that, it's been awesome! Only if we had this house when we moved in. Overall, we are now very happy! March 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5?by Great for families with children! My family has lived here in the community for about a year. We recently moved from an older unit into a renovated unit which is very nice with the updated flooring and other updates. The things, other than the beautiful beach already mentioned, that was really important to me when looking for a home was safety--and we found this within this community. This community is safe for families with children. Children can safely play outside. Most, people are aware of children who may be riding in the streets on skateboards or bikes and most follow the speed limits posted and watch for children. This is the type of neighborhood you can take midnight walks with your dog and you do not feel any different than one you would take during the day. It is a wonderful community for walking or strolling through. It is a very safe community! Security rides around keeping eyes on things and just about the whole neighborhood is respectful to others as far as I have seen. It is a community where many leave tools, and other things outside without the big fear that it will all be missing by the next day. I am not sure if it has ever happened but there aren't many places where you can feel that it is more unlikely than likely to happen. Another thing I love about this community is that there is enough rules to make it safe, yet not so many restrictive rules to make it aggravating to raise a family. Within reason, people have play sets outside for their children, trampolines and such and as long as they aren't obstructive or dangerous to the community, families have that freedom to enjoy the yard spaces behind their homes--and there is a lot of grassy play areas for children to enjoy! Although the grassy areas are pretty common areas, most respect each other's personal spaces around the houses. Children play together in the common grass areas which is very nice for children of all ages. There are also lots of things to do for children in this community such as numerous playgrounds, ball courts, and much more. Every month the community hosts family movie night at the beach which is enjoyable for all ages! This is the place to live to spend time with friends, neighbors, have barbecues, hang out at the beach and just enjoy. Yes, the houses are old houses, but I have never had issues with maintenance here. You call and they try their best to fix any issues. The houses are roomy compared to a lot of housing in other communities. The biggest downfalls which do not compare to the positive things about the community is that there is jet noise from being near a flight path to the base and airport and like many places around Hawaii, there are a variety of bugs you may see from time to time--but maintenance does spray on a schedule and will also come spray if you find a need. These few negative things do not compare to all the positive things this community can offer to a family. March 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5?by AWESOME PLACE TO EXPERIENCE HAWAII LIVING Once we got notified that we were returning to Hawaii due to PCS, we knew the the only choice for us was the Waterfront a Pu'uloa. The houses, location, the beautiful beach with beach chairs were you can enjoy the sunset or sunrise, the facilities, the monthly activities like movie night or weekly farmers market, family oriented lifestyle and the services of all the friendly staff like Eyvonne or Evalani in maintenance or Rachel in the residence desk makes the neighborhood a unique place that stand above most neighborhoods in the island. We moved in about two months ago and this place is amazing they get the community involved in different activities and the best part is the beach!!!! The beach already has everything all you need to bring is sunscreen and your swimsuit!!! The office staff is amazing and if you visit always ask for Kathy, she will show you what you really need!!! Rated 5 out of 5?by A Rareity! We lived on the Big Island for 8 years and moved to Oahu. We have resided here over 3 years now. Everything is beyond our expectations. Considering you are on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean just outside Honolulu we certainly have a great life. Some people complain about the rent & electrical expenses....remember folks it is Hawaii....everything is high. That is the price for paradise. September 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5?by Enjoyable Place to Live Although I am moving off island, I can honestly say that I will miss my home at the Waterfront. Coming from the mainland I was concerned at where I was going to find a home that I would feel was safe and affordable for my family. The Waterfront met and exceeded all my needs. The community is very safe due to 24 security on site. The elementary school is on site and they are awesome too. The front office works hard to make the community a fun place to live. Every Wednesday they have a farmers market just steps from my home. 'Movie Night at the Park' was awesome too. Too much to list! I highly recommend The Waterfront to anyone that asks. Rated 5 out of 5?by Maintenance Department I recently submitted a few maintenance requests on the night of August 22nd via the residence portal and to my surprise, i got a quick response the next day from Evalani. Knowing that I didn't want any service done without my presence, she gladly accommodated my request on the days I was going to be working from home August 26th & 27th! I so appreciated how she went over & beyond to help my needs by scheduling the few work orders to be done on those days. Thank You so much Evalani, that was a tremendous help to my schedule; I really didn't want to take extra days off OR to wait longer until we can coordinate another day(s), You are "the bomb!" I would also like to commend all the technicians that completed the work orders. They have a great crew! Really nice, polite & very efficient! Their work & friendliness is very much appreciated! I thought I was going to be working from home, encountering all these non personality maintenance people who would just want to show up, no smile, do their job & leave. To my surprise, all three different techs were very friendly & made my day go by a lot more pleasant than I expected. Thank You all that were involved with these maint. requests; you were all so Awesome! You are very much appreciated! September 12, 2013
